Dr. Livingston is missing somewhere on the continent and the only person brave enough to follow his travels is a man named Stanley.

Live the adventure of Stanley as you search through jungles plagued with angry tribesmen, deadly insects, hungry piranhas and more. Talk to people in the town, as they will advise you on your survival in the heart of the jungle, and tell you who to contact when you reach certain places. Stanley has a substantial number of items and weapons that he can collect and use, such as the rock, spear and grapnel. If Stanley jumps off of a ledge, he has a helicopter safety feature in his backpack that will keep him from falling to his death. When certain characters are destroyed, they will drop useful items. As you continue to conquer specific areas, you will be allowed to travel further on the map. With your skill and a little bit of luck, you will be able to survive these adventures!

Game Reviews

The illustrious Dr. Livingston is missing in the Masza Jungle. In this cutesy action/adventure from SOFEL, you play a mild mannered newspaper reporter who's latest assignment is to cover the mysterious disappearance of Dr. Livingston.

ProTip: Don't attempt to jump off any ledge without the use of your pack propeller.

Before you enter the not-so-wild jungle, you first hoof it through Port Harken in search of supplies for the journey and information from the locals. From here, the remainder of this long, continuous journey (no level breaks) takes you through various sections of the jungle, across a rugged coastline, and into weird subterranean caverns.

Once inside the jungle, you are promptly greeted by the resident creatures. You'll encounter a mean-looking, though relatively harmless, bunch that includes snakes, man-size insects, and snap-happy crocodiles. Defense is a matter of choice. You can zip away from enemies via your propeller pack, or you can duke it out head-to-head with your fists. If you prefer to attack from a distance, a variety of objects, including spears and coconuts, can be confiscated from enemies or picked up off the ground and hurled.

Stanley: The Search for Dr. Livingston doesn't rank among the hottest action/ adventures of the decade. Yet, it has a certain amount of charm, and better still, endless continues. The graphics are large and attractive. The gameplay is fluid and its loaded with secret areas to explore. You just might like this cart, I presume.
