Joe Montana Sports Talk Football 2

Joe Montana Sports Talk Football 2

Sega blows away the competition with sports realism that's got to be seen -- and to be believed!**

Hut One!

The first things that usually stand out in a good sports game are the graphics and game-play. With Joe Montana II, you also immediately tune in to the ear-popping Sports Talk play-by-play announcing. Unlike other games with one or two digitized phrases, this game's a motormouth with a 250-word vocabulary to describe every play and on-field situation, and it automatically voices your field position, yards to go, and the score. Sports Talk even overshadows the game's excellent sound effects and music.

Hut Two!!

Joe Montana II looks completely different from its predecessor. Whereas Joe Montana I featured a first person perspective look at the field, Joe II presents a side-view, horizontally scrolling view. Once a play begins, the screen zooms in on the ballcarrier and enlarges the players over 200%! Here you can see nuances such as cracks in the defensive line.

ProTip: Kick deep into the corners to trap the kick returner. Always monitor the wind meter and kick in its direction.

The graphics overall are outstanding! There are treats aplenty such as a huge Diamond Vision screen, which highlights the ref, fans in the crowd, and even the cheerleaders, and special effects such as instant replay.

  • The ball is placed on either the left or the right hash marks, so always select running plays to the wide part of the held.

Hut Three!!!

Joe Montana II Sports Talk Football features one player, head-to-head versus the computer and two-player cooperative games. Game-play for both is fluid and the controls are easy to learn.

Choose from a vast arsenal of plays including 17 runs and 19 pass plays on offense and 17 defensive plays. You can flip the direction of offensive plays to rack up a 72-play total offense! More? Call audibles on either side of the ball! The zoom mode adds serious razzle dazzle to the running game. Joe's passing attack is the only minor hitch in an otherwise flawless football game. Receivers often race out of your QB's view, which makes completing a pass sometimes depend on luck.

On pass plays, read the coverage immediately upon snapping the ball to find an open receiver. Hit Pause after the snap to study the defense.

Joe Montana II's great customizing features enable you to play a different game every time you play the game. Play a 16-week season with playoffs. Choose from 28 teams. Use the Dream Team feature to create the ultimate squad!

Hike!!!!

This video game is the closest there is to the real thing, minus the aches and pains! Joe Montana II’s awesome graphics and excellent game-play set it among the leaders of the video football league. The unprecedented Sports Talk feature catapults this game into a category all its own -- just like Joe Montana!

Play by play!

Yes, that's right, Joe Montana is back for his second stab at 16-Bit football in Joe Montana II: Sports Talk Football.

As tne name implies, this game uses an extensive array of real speech to further support the game play. While playing, the announcer keeps you appraised of the on-field action with a steady stream of real voice play by play. Everything is included in this exciting new video football, with complete phrases and a halftime ''talk'' show accompanying the detailed gridiron gladiators!

More conventional features include animated cinema displays on the crowd and referee, and even a cameo appearance by Sonic!

An intricate option screen also allows you to select the field, manage players and, if you don't like the commentary, turn off the voice.

With the added realism afforded by the real voices and scaled play, Joe Montana 2 comes off looking, and sounding, great!

One of the more advanced features of Joe Montana 2 is the pseudoscaling and zoom. When a player approaches or is near the football, the screen shifts to show you a close-up of the action. This provides a better view of the game play and creates a more realistic view of the game!

Get ready for some real fan appreciation whenever you score! Also don't be surprised if you see some familiar faces... like Sega's own Sonic the Hedgehog!

The referee makes all of the calls in animated cinema displays! The referees use the same familiar hand signals you'd see in a real game!

Cinema Displays!

This game has some spectacular cinema displays to help show penalties, scoring and the general mayhem you'd expect to find at any pro outing! adding to the action. The displays are fluid in movement and there are enough of them to satisfy even the most demanding critics of football - be it the video version or the real thing!

Any video game can give you a taste of real football. But only one serves up a whole mouthful. New, Joe Montana II Sportstalk Football from Sega Genesis. The first sports video game with an ongoing play by play announcer's voice.

Now you can get complete coverage of all the hard-hitting action. Instantly. Just like real, professional football on TV. "The blitz is on." "Dumped at the twenty." "Signals for the fair catch." Our man behind the microphone tells you when the secondary is closing in, where a receiver's open, when there's a man in motion. And delivers a truckload of halftime recaps and stats.

And like real football on ТУ you get the big picture, too. During a play, the game automatically zooms into a dazzling close-up. You see every diving catch, pulverizing tackle and explosive charge up the middle. You even get instant replays.

Battle your way through a 28 team league to the championship. Play on the same side as your buddy— you're the quarterback, he's the receiver. Call your strategy with over 50 plays -- in snow or rain. On grass or artificial turf. You get all the excitement, all the bone jarring intensity of the game itself. Plus a whole lot more.

So remember, if you want real football action, the name of the game is Joe Montana II Sportstalk Football. Anything else is all talk.

Joe Montana Sports Talk Football 2 breaks new ground with its use of digitized speech and is the first videogame to feature continuous play-by-play commentary of the action happening on the football field. The game features teams from NFL cities, but does not have an actual NFL license, so there are no authentic logos, uniforms, or players are included.

Gameplay takes place on a horizontally scrolling field with small players. When a player receives the ball, the action zooms in for a more detailed view. There are several options to configure, such as weather, penalties and game times, and a Dream Team mode in which you can create your own team. You can challenge the computer or a friend in a single Exhibition match or 16-game League play. You can also team up with a friend and take on the computer.

Other features include passwords for saving progress, more than 50 plays, grass and artificial turf fields, audibles, a Kick Meter, three difficulty levels and instant replay. It's first and ten. The ball's on the 20-yard line. The crowd roars with applause. Listen to the action as never before with Joe Montana II Sports Talk Football for the Genesis!
