Super Buster Brothers

Bubbles are bouncing all over the world, and that bad boy, the Super Buster Brother, has to bust those babies before they bash somebody. What??? No seriously, the world is under attack by brightly colored bouncing bubbles. As a Super Buster Brother, it's your job to burst the bubbles and clean up this slippery mess.

Around the World or Bust

In the style of classic games, like Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Island, Super Buster Brothers features level after level of one-player, bubble-bursting action. To understand how this game works, just follow the bouncing ball.

Super Buster Brothers (we're not sure what happened to the other brother) has two different modes of play. In the Tour Mode, your Buster Brother advances from country to country. In each country (a single screen with a nicely detailed scene from that country is the background), bubbles of different sizes fall from the top of the screen, bounce when they hit the ground, and then ricochet around the screen. If a bubble touches you, you're history. Your task is simple -- pop all of the bubbles with your Harpoon Gun before time runs out. The problem is, each time you blast a bubble, it splits in two. To finally burst a bubble, you've got to blast it when it reaches its smallest size.

ProTip: Don't blindly blow up bubbles. The more bubbles bouncing on-screen, the harder it is to dodge. Focus on destroying one completely, and then attack the next.

In the Panic Mode, you face 99 levels of nonstop popping action. In each level, you've got to pop bubbles until your Pop Meter is full. Only then can you move on to the next level.

Bubble-icious

In both modes, your Buster Brother can run left and right, climb up and down ladders, jump off platforms, and fire his gun. Fortunately for Super Bro', power-ups and other helpful items abound. Sometimes when bubbles burst or highlighted platforms are blown up, power-ups appear. In Tour mode, these include the Double Harpoon Gun, a Grappling Hook, a Clock (freezes bubbles for a set amount of time), Dynamite (blows all bubbles to their smallest size), and more. The Panic Mode features different, but equally helpful, power-ups.

  • Don't just fire at bubbles from underneath them. Stand to the side of an advancing bubble and fire your Harpoon or Grappling Gun so that the bubble bounces into the line of your gun and bursts.
  • Sometimes power-ups will appear out of nowhere when you simply fire at the ceiling or underneath a platform.
  • Fire at flying creatures for power-ups. If you nail the Capcorn horse, you'll get a 1-up.

Bust a Move

Fans of Bubble Bobble and similar titles will find Buster Brothers has the same addictive quality. Pumped up 16-bit graphics, smooth tunes, and the game's two different modes combine with adjustable challenge settings to create a well-rounded package. If you're looking for a relaxing game that requires little brainpower, you just might want to bust a move with Super Buster Brothers.

Didn't mean to burst your bubble...

...but the world is being attacked by an invasion of giant bouncing bubbles! You are the Super Buster Brother and it's up to you to save the planet from the onslaught of killer bubbles. The object of the game is very simple, pop all of the bubbles on the screen without getting hit. The bubbles break into smaller bubbles and are hard to hit!

There are two ways to play this game. The Tour mode lets you go around the globe popping bubbles while overcoming different structures. Panic mode is a little different. As you pop the bubbles, a bar at the bottom of the screen fills and you advance to the next level. You can pick up various weapons along the way that improve your bubble popping capabilities!

TWO MODES FOR TWICE THE FUN!

  1. TOUR MODE. Travel all over the world and get rid of the bubbles. Collect power-ups and bonus items as you go through 40 levels, each with different scenery.
  2. PANIC MODE. Here's where you can test your skill. Pop the bubbles to fill the colored bar at the bottom and advance a level. Can you make it through all 99 levels?

Super Buster Bros, is a game that can be quite challenging at times.

There might be a level that you just can't get past and you don't know what to do. Never fear, because we at GameFabrique have come upon a level select code that will let you start from any level in the game! This is how to do it. At the title screen, press START. You will now see a screen that says "Select Game" at the top. At this screen, press these buttons in this order: L button, R button, R button, L button, UP, DOWN. Once you do this, a number will appear in the middle of the screen. This is the level number that you will begin on when you press the START button. Use the control pad to change the number to the level of your choice.

T.T.I. bursts onto the Turbo Duo with Super Buster Bros.! Bouncing bubbles are taking over the world and you must help the brothers stop them. It's not easy, because the spheres multiply each time you hit them! Pick up power-ups such as harpoons, guns, shields and food to help you burst the flying bubbles.

Cute graphics and fast-paced game play accompany you as you travel around this wacky world.

Although this game has a certain appealing charm to it, I still find its goals to be too repetitious and lacking enough action for sustained play. The graphics aren't particularly interesting and the sound effects, while good for the most part, don't add anything to the mix. This game, while executed well, is about ten years too late.

For a while this game is fun. But it really is the same thing over and over again. I normally like these types of games but variety is very important and there just isn't enough of it here. It isn't just this version either, as it was done very well. Even the Super NES copy had the same problems.

I didn't like this version of Super Buster Bros as much as the SNES one. The basic concept in the game play is there, and the graphics are very detailed but look washed out. The music is very cool, it should be for a CD, but the sound effects need work. Still a fun way to pass the time.

I have yet to see why this title is a CD game, unless TTI is trying to save money on TurboChips. The sounds are not CD quality, if you ask me. The game gets very repetitive, but it still retains a certain "cuteness" about it. It has a special appeal to BreakOut fans, but won't be tool exciting for hot action fanatics.

Super Buster Brothers is also know as Ghost Hunter is a strange shooting game where the object of the game is to shoot up at bubbles with a grappling hook gun which divides the bubble into smaller ones until gone!, But its not as easy as it sounds seeing as platforms, Ladders and other obstacles for you to scale and they affect the bubbles movements.
