Uninvited

You start this adventure after mysteriously crashing your car into a tree. Unfortunately, your brother, who was in the car with you at the time of the crash, is now missing! It's up to your bravery and detective skills to find him. As you barely escape the exploding car with your life, your adventure leads you to an old haunted house. Can your nerves stand the creepy place? Can your wits stand the puzzles?

Uninvited follows along the same computer-inspired lines as Shadowgate, with plenty of first-person representations of the surroundings you encounter. The RPG theme is buried under moving cursors which manage to slow things down, but those who want quests won't mind -I did.

6.0

Like Shadowgate, Kemco has directly translated a popular computer quest. All of the challenge you'd expect in an adventure RPG is here, but the graphics are definitely restrained by the limitations of the Nintendo. Good for puzzle-solving RPG lovers though!

4.0

Uninvited is another one of those RPGs that tries to simulate real life with graphics instead of text or putting the characters in action-oriented game play. The problem is that, while the quest is O.K., the graphics and interaction just don't cut it. Too complex for its own good.

5.0

Although Kemco looks like they put a lot of effort into this game, I still didn't like it as much as I could have. The graphics were static and the sound wasn't anything to jump off a building for. The puzzles were too obvious in some places and totally off the wall in others. Let's see some new ideas.

Game Reviews

Look out! The last thing you remember before blacking out is a shadowy figure appearing in the road in front of you. You heard your sister cry out as you swerved your car into this tree. You realize that you're alone. Your sister must have gone for help..."

Welcome to Uninvited, Kemco-Seika's latest mind-bending adventure in the tradition of its other hit games, Shadow-gate and Déjà Vu.

Uninvited "invites" you to search for your missing sister throughout a spooky, haunted mansion complete with ghosts and other ghoulish mysteries. This adventure role play title uses the same "point and click" interface as Shadowgate and Déjà Vu. Solving the phantom puzzle takes brain power as opposed to quick reflexes. However, aficionados of this video game genre may find that Uninvited doesn't quite live up to the standards set by Shadowgate and Déjà Vu, but, hey, if you like this kind of game you're still gonna' enjoy solving this mystery! To get you started here are a few clues...

A weird thing happened when you and your sis were out on a leisurely drive. Out of nowhere a dark figure appeared in the road, forcing you to swerve into a tree; the last thing you remember was the sound of your sister screaming in terror. When you regained consciousness your sister was nowhere to be found and your car was parked in front of a very creepy lookin' mansion. Could sis possibly be inside that hideous home? If you thought Shadowgate was a doozy, just wait 'til you get a load of this madhouse! There's a combination of over 100 puzzles, rooms, and clues to inspect in this role play mystery, and there's at least as many zombies, ghosts, and demons to go along with 'em. You'd better think twice before you enter a home, uninvited!

Published by Mindscape, Inc. and developed by ICOM Simulations, Inc. this adventure "horror" theme video game for one player was released 1986.

You driving at night on a lonely road when suddenly a strange figure gets in the way, blocking your vision. That is causing you to swing over and crash the vehicle. As soon as you recover, you find that your sister is missing (in the other version of the game, brother is missing). Creepy old mansion, looming in front of you, is just the only place where she could have gone. You can't expect help from anyone, and having no other choice, enter the building in search of your sister. As it turns out the mansion used to belong to some old wizard and his apprentice. Somehow it has become infested with the Undead.

In this game the presence of the evil step by step takes control and you may finally end up turning into zombie. It is limited in time and suggests an interesting quest to go through.
