Uno-Skip-Bo

DSI is becoming known for its bargain priced games and it's ability to turn either a board game, or card game into a video game. And in some cases, turning a cartoon into a video game (more on that in another review). But whether it's wanted or not, DSI has made some games that actually translate well to the video game medium. Case in point, UNO Skip-bo, the game on today's agenda.

Chances are you have played both of these games sometime in your life. They are popular staples for families to play when camping or hanging out for game night, or whenever.

Uno plays just like the classic card game, you are given a set of cards and one by one you must try and unload your stack by either matching it to the last card played in the discard pile. Using the same number, color or word. When you cannot play a card, you must add one to your own pile from the draw deck. The first person to successfully play all their cards is the winner.

In Skip-Bo, the object is to play all of your cards in numerical sequence while using a set of community cards, you can play as many cards in a turn that you can as long as they are in numeric order, discarding a card to your own personal discard pile when you can play no more.

Both games are very fun and easy to play, since there is no need for fancy graphics the ones provided do the job and hours can be whittled away while playing. I like this title because it is a very good game for any trip that involves time, because time goes by fast when you are having fun.

Sadly, there is no multiplayer mode even with a link cable, which is too bad because I have the DS version of the same game and playing against others is providing tremendous entertainment.

A decent title with a fair price, if card games are your thing, then pick this one up if you are planning on taking a trip soon and want something new and fun to play.
