Project G.G.

To say I am pumped for Project G.G. is a massive understatement. This is coming to us from platinum games and I am a massive fan of theirs and think the majority of games they have put out have been fantastic. This is a game that they are 100 percent doing themselves that is based on their own creation! I cannot want to see how creative they get with this. While this game was first shown back in 2020, not much has been revealed, but today I am taking a deep dive into what I think this game is going to be offering us.

The Powerful Climax

No that is not a reference to Bayonetta… although it could be. However, Project G.G. is being described by Platinum Games as the final part of their superhero trilogy! That right there has me very excited about this game.

The director of this project is Hideki Kamiya and the “climax” and “superhero trilogy” to me has to be Viewtiful Joe and the Wonderful 101. Him having full control over a project without an outside studio like Capcom or Tencent is something I am very excited to see.

The Hero Of Steel!

We know very, very little about Project G.G. so far, but the trailer we have seen does give us some impressions of what we can expect. The trailer talks about nature's revenge and It then says that an invasion happened and we get to see this massive bigger than the city kaiju style creature! It looks very imposing and then we have what looks like some kind of mech, robot, or whatever charging in to try and fight the creature. The thing is, before that we see this dude jump in and save a dog and it looks like he has something to do with that mech or robot!

Time, Sweet Time!

I am very excited about how that Project G.G. is being handled 100 percent by Platinum Games themselves. Apparently, Tencent came in and offered to publish the game, but Platinum Games want to take full control. I think this is both a huge blessing and a little bit of a curse. The reason I say this is that Platinum Games are one of the most creative studios around, but their biggest hits have always been in collaboration with a publisher like Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, or whatever. As they are handling this all themselves, they get to be super creative, but it also means that the game is taking its sweet time to get to us.

I know that there is not a great deal to say about Project G.G. just yet, however, those of us who have played the majority of what Platinum Games have offered know that there is all the reason in the world to be excited about this game.

Pros:

• I love the idea of Platinum Games being in full control
• What is the deal with this monster taking on the city?
• Also, who the heck is that guy, and what is his relationship with the mech/robot
• The talent behind the game is great!

Cons:

• There has been very little revealed about the game so far
• We still do not know what kind of game this exactly is!
