This is one of the greatest superhero games of all time and most people would agree the best Spider-Man game of all time. We play as Spidey as he takes on some of his most iconic villains in a thrilling narrative adventure that truly does make you feel like you are Peter Parker. We cannot talk about that game without mentioning its sequel, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales! This game put Miles front and center and we get to see just how he manages to become the hero that New York needs. This is a fantastic game and Miles actually has some really cool powers and abilities that Peter wishes he had!

While looking at the most recent Spider-Man games was cool, we are going back to a real classic and that is Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage! This was a huge hit back in the 16-bit days and this storyline was a huge deal. The game has a very comic book kind of feel and the Final Fight beat-em-up style gameplay is a lot of fun. Just be warned, you will need your Spidey-Sense on full alert as this game is harder than an afternoon in the park with the Sinister Six.

We are going from one beat-em-up game to another and this is one of the more underrated and less well know Spider-Man games. The game we are talking about is, Spider-Man: Friend or Foe. This has the soul of a 16-bit beat-em-up game and is an absolute blast if you are playing with a friend. This game is set in the same universe as the Toby McGuire Spidey movies and Spider-Man has to team up with some of his most dangerous foes such as Venom and The Green Goblin! If you want a game that is just all about beating up guys, this is the game for you. Another Spider-Man game that does not get the attention it deserves is Ultimate Spider-Man. This game came out after the critically acclaimed Spider-Man 2 and the core gameplay feels very similar. This game is based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comic book series and the cell shaded art style makes you feel like you are playing a live action comic book! Now, the big twist of this game is that you will be doing a lot of web slinging as Peter Parker which is awesome. However, you also get to unleash a path of destruction playing as Venom as well!

A game that was a massive hit in the early 2000s was, Spider-Man! This game was heavily themed around the epic 90s Spider-Man the Animated Series and to this day it remains one of the Spider-Man games that people have a lot of nostalgia for. Sure, some of these 3D games from this era are a bit rough around the edges, but this game is one of the better 3D action games of its day and it is well worth taking the time to play, it also has a sequel which is fun, but not quite as good as this game right here. We would say that the Dreamcast is the best version of this game!
