Sir Whoopass - Action RPG

When you think about the classing action RPG main character, you tend to think of someone powerful and well-trained. They are the only one in the world who can defeat a villain, and the story is mainly about their journey. In Sir Whoopass, a yet to be released Steam Game, things are a little---different.

It’s evident from the first, creative video shared by the developers that Sir Whoopass is going to be a fun one. Far from the perfect hero of our dreams, Sir Whoopass appears to be doing more running and screaming then he does saving lives.

An Imperfect Hero

Most games focus on creating a story that makes the hero look as good as possible. This game is more like the The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition in terms of silliness, accident prone characters, and impromptu situations.

While there’s also plenty of action, be prepared to spend half your time slitting the throats of scary monsters, and the other half shooting your drink out your nose at the hilarity of the situation they are in.

Graphics look great

While this game isn’t out yet so it’s difficult to fully measure the quality of the game, one thing is clear from the glimpses provided, the visuals in this game are excellent. The movement in the game looks very natural, the light glints appropriately off the armor, and the details of the game are crisp and clear. The developer outdoes themselves in things such as water textures and other details that are important to some but less so to others.

Story is unknown

The developer shares a general idea of what the story is going to be about. A “Try-hard” hero must defeat a great enemy, hilarity and violence ensues. These details aren’t really enough to find out how great the story is, but based on the level of care provided to the other aspects of the game, we can hope that it will be just as good. One thing is clear, this game is refreshing and different. It takes the typical quests and stereotypes of your standard fantasy quest and laughs at it, which is a breath of relief in a world packed with the same old thing.

Unknown release date

The release date simply says “coming soon,” but like the main character in the game, the developers have a habit of getting sidetracked. The game was put on hold to get another one finished, and there have often been huge gaps between updates from the developer.
