Chord Progressions

Being a fan of music and furry lewd visual novels I guess you could say that Chord Progressions really did strike a chord with me…. ok, sorry for that terrible pun, actually, I am not, it was quite clever if I do say so myself. Anyway, this is a lewd visual novel that is all about finding the right guy, having fun, and making connections with people. if you want a nonstop sex fest, this is not the game for you, it has more substance than that. As I write this, the game is still being worked on, but I am really enjoying the direction it is going so far so I wanted to share my thoughts on it.

Making A Fresh Start!

One of the most surprising things about Chord Progressions for me was the MC. This is one of the most likable main characters that I have played as in a lewd visual novel in quite some time. He is cute and I just love his foxy design. However, it is the fact that he is a real gem of a guy that made him click with me and it made me really want to focus on the story and the characters so I could have him be as happy as possible.

A Great Job!

The story of Chord Progressions has us joining our MC on the first day of his new job which is a music store. It is a cool setting and a great job, but he does not actually know much about music! What we have here is a kind of slice of life kind of story as he makes new friends, chats to people and of course, goes out on dates. It is all done very well and I did warm to most of the characters in the game. You could make these regular people and not furries and it would just be as good. As far as a gay story goes, this is honestly one of the more wholesome ones I have experienced this year.

An Open Kind Of Relationship

The writing in Chord Progressions is just fantastic and I was very happy to go with the flow and experience this engaging story with these interesting characters. The writing is second to none, it captures the feel of moving to a new place and starting a new job really well. I am more than happy to go in the direction the developer wants to go here. With that being said, if you are someone that needs like a million choices in your lewd furry visual novel to get invested, you may not get sucked into this quite as much as I did.

That Fine Furry Art

As I said in the intro, Chord Progressions is not the kind of game that is just all sex, sex, sex. It does have some masturbation and naked scenes, but it is not just hot furry dudes banging. The characters have a real warmth and kindness to them that is hard to explain, but you just want to smile when you see them. I also love the setting of the game too, in a strange way it kind of reminds me of Haven Springs and the record store there in Life is Strange: True Colors. It has a very wholesome and likable vibe to the presentation and the bright and stylish use of color is fantastic.

Pros:

• This has one of the most likable MCs I have ever experienced
• The characters are so well written
• I like the setting and the new town vibe of the story
• The art is outstanding!

Cons:

• The gay furry theme may not be everyone’s cup of tea
• I wish that the game was finished as I want more of it!
