Corsairs Legacy - Pirate Action RPG

If you find yourself wishing that you were a pirate then Corsairs Legacy - Pirate Action RPG is the game for you. Games based on pirates are not all that common, sure there are a few notable ones, but games with this kind of theme are far less common than fantasy or sci-fi. That is why this is a game I am very excited to talk about today and hopefully get a few more people excited about it too.

The Pirate Code

The game takes place in 1689 and features a fully-fledged pirate world for you to play in. As you would expect the game takes place in the Caribbean and that is always cool.

The main character is even called Jack… which is a little on the nose if I am being honest, but the idea of playing as a pirate who is trying to live his best pirate life is something that I can certainly get behind.

Show Off The Good Stuff

One of the main problems that I feel Corsairs Legacy - Pirate Action RPG is going to have is winning people over. The popularity of games like Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, Sea of Thieves, and if you want to go old school, Monkey Island show that there is a desire for pirate games. However, the gameplay trailer that is currently on Steam for this is terrible, it looks slow and boring and nothing like what I am sure the final game will be.

This is an action RPG where you can get into swashbuckling sword fights and use your gun when the sword is not good enough. You can improve your pirate as there is a lot of progression in the game and there will be a ton of quests, characters to interact with, and so on. I just feel that they are not doing the best job of showing people how great this game can be.

The Sand Between Your Toes

So far, visually Corsairs Legacy - Pirate Action RPG looks pretty decent. What has really caught my attention is the incredible environments. The sandy beaches and the clear water in particular look fantastic in this game.

The jungle areas that we have seen also look great and I think that the “world” the game is set in looks like it could have been taken directly from one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies! The character animations look a little stiff, but I am sure this is something that will be worked on as the game moves along development.

Pros:

• Playing as a pirate is cool
• You can progress your pirate in a way that suits your play style
• The environments look fantastic
• You get to play through a pirating adventure story

Cons:

• The animations look a little stiff
• They need to make a better trailer for this to get people more excited
