Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game

I do not think a game has shocked me by its existence more than Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game did! The 80s cult classic is being turned into a video game and I could not be any more excited about it. I remember going to a friend’s house for a sleepover in the summer of 1990 and this was the first time I saw the movie and I freaking loved it! This is a multiplayer game and I thought we could have a little bit of fun by looking at some of the things we can expect from this game.

Small Town America

I could not be any more into the setting of the game. What we have here with Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is basically the same plot as the movie. We have a group of alien clowns that have come to the small town of Crescent Cove and basically want to kill and consume as many humans as they can as they start their invasion. Only a plucky group of American average Joes can stand in their way! I am not sure how story driven this will be, to be honest with you, but I think the premise is fantastic.

Klowing Around

Ok, let's get to the klowns! Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game lets you play as three Klowns and from what I remember, they could not be any more faithful to the way that they looked in the movie. If you play as the Klowns you are part of a team of three and your goal is to hunt and kill the humans as you start your invasion of this sleepy town. The weapons are hilarious, including the weird stuff you saw in the movie. From what I understand, what we have seen is just the tip of the iceberg of what we can expect.

Did you like and get that reference? Anyway, standing up against the invasion in Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game are seven brave souls that will try and not just survive being hunted by the klowns! They will actively try and stop their invasion efforts. The people who are playing as the humans have different classes to choose from as well as a multitude of weapons as well. You will have to look around the place too as there is hidden loot that can help you all over the place!

3 Vs 7

I will admit when I heard that the way matches were split in Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game was going to be 3 vs 7 I did wonder how that would work. From what we have seen so far, it looks like it is going to work wonderfully well and be something that is a great deal of fun. I feel that having this many human characters may help when dealing with the very powerful Klowns. I am sure there will be a lot of work done on the balancing after the game is released and the developer sees what works and what does not.

To say that I am super pumped up for Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is a huge understatement! As of me writing this is the shooter that I am most excited for in 2023! This game looks insane and a great deal of fun. However, I am getting a real sense that working as a team is going to be a huge part of this game and that is something I am really into.

Pros:

The fact that this game is even a thing is awesome
It is trying to be as authentic to the movie as possible
I love the way the game looks!
There are lots of classes, weapons, items and more to make use of

Cons:

It may not have the same appeal if you have no nostalgia for the movie
While I am interested in the 3 vs 7 concept, it may be something that requires a bit of patching to balance it out just right
