Some games will have the player saving the world, some others will have you conquering it. Hunting monsters, or fighting wars, but sometimes the main goal in a game is to survive, and survival can be hard enough, especially during a zombie infection. RIO - Raised in Oblivion is an online survival-action game developed by First Phoenix Studio, so let’s talk about it.
About the game
Set in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro an infection in the Praca Seca region is quickly spreading, and the government has built contention walls around the region to prevent those infected from escaping and spreading the virus, at least until they find a cure. The infected pretty much become zombies, and they seem to have murderous intent. But these monsters are not the only ones to worry about, as it is often in this case, the humans are the worst monsters.
The survival
RIO - Raised in Oblivion is not alone in the genre of online zombie survival games, one of the biggest names in the genre being DayZ, which also has a huge player base that constantly logs in to the game. Sure, Dayz is a bigger and more developed title, but RIO has a much more unique setting.
RIO - Raised in Oblivion is a solid title made by a small developer, and we can see that there’s a lot of work and dedication put into the development of this title. The missions and online work are great either cooperative or PVP.
Pros:
- Nice concept
