Among fighting games and 2D platformers, there are enough unusual projects. But even among the most daring projects, Rivalry stands out for its original idea and presentation. This fun game allows you to have fun with your friends and learn a lot about medieval edged weapons.

What is it?

Project Rivalry is something between classic fighting game, casual indie game and turn-based strategy. Visually, it's a 2D platformer with minimalistic design and turn-based combat. Its gameplay is built around the use of rag-doll technology.

One person named Kew McParlane is responsible for creating the game. He's been developing the game since 2015. At a very young age, Kew was inspired by the Little Big Planet series. And his brainchild has become a hit. For the distribution of the project is responsible publisher My64K.

Rivalry was first presented to the public at PAX Australia 2015. Visitors to the event warmly received the project and later became positive about it.

Over the past 6 years and a bit visually the game has not changed too much. However, a huge number of weapons and movement options appeared for opponents. So far, the project is only available in English.

Gameplay in Rivalry is built around the battle of two characters that take turns controlling the user. Each character is armed with swords, axes, battle hammers, and other edged weapons that are chosen by the players before the fight begins. Shields and other defenses can also be taken in one of the hands.

After selecting the items, the fight begins. In it, the opponents take turns striking at each other. Victory goes to the character, who quickly dealt fatal damage to his opponent. The duel is based on the basic knowledge and movements of fencing. As opponents get hurt, their movements slow down and change.

Advantages and Disadvantages

The game is praised for several reasons. First and foremost are:
