Svarog's Dream is an expansive open-world RPG that sucks you into a rich fantasy landscape with deep gameplay systems and an intriguing premise. As a lost soul stuck between worlds, you inhabit desperate hosts and shape your destiny through their unique skills and backstories. With each death, you return to the underworld for another chance at life.

I loved the freedom to explore this vivid, evolving world and make consequential choices. My actions shifted the world and story, for better or worse, creating a dynamic experience. Like Dark Souls meeting Diablo, Svarog's Dream blends sandbox exploration with Diablo’s addictive loot grind.

Creative Liberties

The open-ended progression gives you creative liberties in crafting your hero. With over 100 abilities and 500 items to mix and match, you can build widely different characters to suit your playstyle.

Whether a burly warrior or cunning mage, the deep customization empowers varied playthroughs. However, you can sometimes feel over-encumbered by the excessive gear and skill options. For more creative players, however, this extensive toolbox of options might appear as one of Svarog's Dream's strongest suits.

Punishing Gameplay

The gameplay also captures the ruthless challenge of Dark Souls. With scarce resources, threatening enemies, and unforgiving combat, staying alive is an uphill battle. The resurrection mechanic also works similarly to the Dark Souls formula. Death is the best teacher in the punishing world of Svarog's Dream.

However, besting a difficult boss or conquering a deadly dungeon makes victory sweeter. The tense, demanding gameplay keeps you on edge, though it risks frustrating more casual players.

Living World

The world feels alive as you battle gods, wage war, evade debt collectors, and more. With a breadth of quests and activities, like crafting, sleeping, and eating, actions have consequences that reshape the world and story. While ambitious, some features like upgrading homes seem underbaked so far. Still, the dynamic world reacts to your decisions, delivering a personalized journey.
