In a Scent

While I will admit for the most part, I had no idea what the heck was going on with In a Scent, I still had a lot of fun with this very lewd visual novel. It was an interesting twist on the whole dom thing. Usually, in games like this, it is a hot female that is having her way with a dude, but here it is a guy that is the dom. It made for an interesting change and it certainly made the game stand out from the other lewd visual novels I have played recently.

I Thought That Incubus Was A Band

You know, it is true what they say, you learn something new every day and thanks to In a Scent, I can say that was very true the day I played this. You see in this game we play as an incubus. I thought that sounded cool and we would be playing as the rock band from the 90s and early 00s that I was into. However, an incubus I would learn is a male demon and this male demon has been cut off from his family until he can prove his worth and that is ultimately what is going down here.

A Crazy Goofball

While the story was kind of all over the place it actually worked in the favor of In a Scent. The reason I say this is that the MC despite being a demon in human form, is hilarious. He is such a weirdo goofball who just does not give an f’s and does what he wants when he wants. It is the kind of story that is so weird and over the top that if you just go with it, you will have a fun time and smile over most of the crazy antics this incubus dude ends up getting up to!

Photo Realistic

Ok, flashback here that has nothing to do with In a Scent. Anyway, I remember back in the 90s, I had this gaming magazine that showed off an upcoming game called WCW Nitro that claimed the game had “photo realistic” graphics. That was a term used then, 99/100 it was false, but photo realistic is the best way to describe this game. Some of the faces are a little off, but the locations and the bodies look incredible in this game. The renders are hot and there is a lot of XXX content and the animation is fantastic, I love how smooth it all is!

Is It An Illusion?

Now we need to talk about the gameplay of In a Scent. This is a lewd visual novel that I feel more gives you the illusion of choice. You get to make choices in the story, but if I am being honest, I am not sure how much bearing they had on the way things moved forward. Still, it keeps you invested and there are other more important choices to be made during the sex scenes. These are things like changing the camera angle or when or where to finish. It is not much, but it at least gives the game some gameplay.

Pros:

• The main character is so weird and fun
• I liked the premise of the demon guy being cut off until he proves himself
• The art is amazing, especially those animated sex scenes
• This is a game that does not demand much from the player

Cons:

• I wish that some of the choices felt like they mattered
• The story is so weird, it may be hard for some people to get into
