For once, a game has done justice to one of my favorite comics. First things first, the game play is absolutely outstanding. Sure, there are Street Fighter moves, but who cares? This isn't another Final Fight. This game requires skill and timing. The graphics are good, but not great, and the music is sort of blah. However, X-Men is fun to play, and that's what really counts. X-Men is a decent side-scroller.
This is definitely the finest video game version of X-Men that I've played. The characters are large and well detailed, plus the addition of Street Fighter-style controller movements for some of the special attacks is a great idea. The levels are huge, and there's no shortage of thugs to beat up. The difficulty is on the extreme side, so you probably won't beat this one for a while. It's not a basic walk-and-punch, which is good.
This is one of the more decent games to bear the name, X-Men. You get to play the five most popular X-Men, each with their respective powers. They're all cool, but I think they could have used more moves and special abilities to add a little variety. The graphics are nice, but you can tell there was room for improvement. The music and sound are also good. This would make a nice purchase for X-Men fans.
An excellent X-Men adventure and easily the best so far! This is not just another meal Fight game. Each character has a lot of moves involving some techniques like fireball or dragon punch motions. The characters and backgrounds are very colorful, and the control is just as good. There are lots of secrets and big levels to keep you hunting in this action-packed cart. Whether or not you're a fan of the X-Men, it is a great game.

Lots of fist-pounding action and big, mean, colorful bosses will keep fans of the X-Men enthralled for a long time. The only drawbacks are stiff animation, this music, and short levels. Still, this is one game that delivers a thrill!

X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse is a Super Nintendo action game developed by Capcom. The X-Men must rescue mutants from captivity in the Genosha island complex. Professor X issues an order which the X-Men must complete to finish their missions, but the levels may be played in any order. The player can choose which X-Man suits better for the current mission.
