I read another review about Stranded Dick that said the game would be great if it could get out of its own way and I really do not think that I could have described this game any better! This is a lewd survival/sandbox style of game and a game that has some pretty neat ideas, a pretty cool premise and some very well done character renders. There really is a great deal to like about this game, but you have to be very committed if you want to see it all the way through to the end.

Chipwrecked!

A little nod to the third Alvin & The Chipmunks movie for you there! Anyway, the premise of the game is pretty neat. We have some good looking young folks having fun on a boat when all of a sudden it catches fire and they have to jump into the sea. Then end up washed up on an island where they need to try and survive. I think as a premise that is pretty awesome, but they could have added a tad more than just the fight for survival.

How Many Times Do I Have To Read This Book???

There is a lot to keep an eye on as far as the gameplay goes in Stranded Dick. You have various meters to watch out for, you need to manage your hunger and you have to build your stats. It is your typical lewd sandbox style of game. However, this is one of the grindiest games of this style that I have ever played. You have to do the same thing over and over again to move on to the next scene or improve a stat. However, you cannot always just do it over and over, you usually have to wait for at least another day to do it again. It can become a real chore pretty fast. This is a real shame as if it were streamlined a bit, I think the gameplay loop would be pretty fun.

Life’s A Beach

One area where I think Stranded Dick really excels (apart from the awesome title) is the presentation. This game has some fantastic renders and the characters all have a more realistic look about them which I think does help you connect to the story that little bit more. Also, the island setting is not something that I feel has been overused a million times in other lewd games so I thought that was pretty cool as well.

I really do think that there is a lot to like about Stranded Dick. The story is pretty interesting, there are some good looking and well written characters and the idea of the gameplay look is pretty good. However, the grind, oh my goodness the grind! It really makes playing the game a massive chore, I think it is the repetitive tasks you have to do that more often than not do not even have that much of a payoff, but you still have to do them. This is not the worst game I have played, far from it, but you will certainly need a lot of patience to get the best out of it.
