ACE Academy is a visual novel with a unique twist. Rather than the major focus of the game being on the story, the game instead focuses on gameplay. ACE Academy sets itself apart from other visual novels because nearly everything you do in the game splinters off into a new choice, creating a new story every single time.

This changes the game from being simply an immersive story for a few hundred hours of entertainment, to a virtually limitless book you can read something new in each time you play.

Stunning Graphics

Despite having so many branches available to the story, the graphics hold up through the experience. The game was developed for full HD, and the graphics were designed at greater than 1080p to avoid zooming.

This means sharp graphics that look great throughout the story. While these graphics aren’t as stunning as those from visual novels like Doki Doki Literature Club, the graphics are still beautiful all the way through and better than many other visual novels.

Interesting storyline

While story is not the games major focus, the story isn’t an afterthought either. The story is set in the future, where the protagonist has been sent to ACE Academy. ACE Academy is a school for Cenorobotics studies.

The protagonist has outdated American gear, and struggles to find a team willing to accept him for an upcoming tournament. Eventually, he finds a group of misfits so desperate for an extra team member, they’re willing to take him on. The game lets you take it from there, and is filled with comedy, slice-of-life, and even romance. If you enjoy all these things wrapped up in a sci-fi setting, ACE Academy is a hilarious story that will keep you engaged.

Decent Voice Acting

The game is fully voiced and has a completely English cast. It’s somewhat unusual to find a visual novel that is fully voiced in its entirety, especially one of any size like ACE Academy. Overall, the acting is well done and helps add life to the story.

Extended play time

You can expect about 10-12 hours of play time going through this novel, but you can go back through it again each time and try something new. If you choose ordinary, appropriate dialogue you’ll get a fairly average story. If you choose only the most comedic options, you’ll get a hilarious and sometimes outrageous story. It’s all up to you.

All in all, ACE Academy is a hilarious visual novel that will keep you coming back with the sheer number of choices available. This game has something for everyone. It features beautiful graphics, fully voiced story, and the chance to live your life at the Academy with an abundance of choices.
