Danganronpa Decadence

Danganronpa Decadence is a quartet of games being released on the Switch. The game collection features the popular Danganronpa series, including a variety of favorite games from the past. If you’re unfamiliar with the series, the game is about elite students who must play a killing game by murdering another student—and then convincing their own classmates of their innocence. The last one standing is the winner, and also the one that gets to live.

This creepy, dark game has thrilled players for years, but only on other platforms. Danganronpa Decadence brings the three original games to Switch, as well as the board game style adventure, Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp. Danganronpa Decadence is to be released December 3rd, both on the Switch game store and as a physical copy.

Beautiful Artwork

Danganronpa Decadence is a bundle of a decade of gameplay, but the quality of each game is the same. The legendary developer, Spike Chunsoft, known for other games such as Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- The Prophecy of the Throne, Danganronpa carries the same feel as other Spike Chunsoft games. This means the anime style artwork is beautiful, with a dark moody theme that really matches with the tone of the games. If you’ve ever played Ace Attorney, you’ll find it a darker version of that popular mystery series. Though admittedly Ace Attorney’s artwork isn’t nearly as good.

Creepy Story

If you love horror and murder mysteries, this quartet will be right up your alley. The quartet features the original three games, all of which have great storyline that will both chill you and challenge you. Each game has a similar theme set in a different location, with the exception of the last one.

The final game included in the bundle is Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp, which is a much more light hearted game. This one is a board game style version that features characters from all three of the previous works, but on a relaxing vacation instead.

While most people play Danganronpa for the edgy murder mystery, Danganronpa S: Ultimate Summer Camp has its place. It lets you get to know the characters in a new light and see what happens when characters who might not meet in the original game interact with each other.

While the final game is not canon, it’s a very enjoyable game well worth playing. This is a must have collection for murder mystery fans. While the game obviously isn’t going to be embraced by those who scare easily, if you love dark mysteries you can’t get better than Danganronpa. This bundle not only gives you the newest game in the series, it lets you play all of the games in Danganronpa history. This is a must have opportunity, and highly recommended for mystery lovers and horror fans.
