Innocence or Money

It is kind of crazy that Innocence or Money is made by just one person and that they let you play the first three chapters of this game for free! It makes this a lewd visual novel that is very easy to recommend as you have nothing to lose by giving it a try. Either it clicks with you and you buy the rest of the season or you decide that it is not for you and you move on without having spent a penny. This is a slow burn and corruption style of story and it does some really cool things that I liked.

Jenny Heading To The Block

What I think made me really like Innocence or Money was the MC, Jennifer. Jennifer is a fantastic and very likable main character. The story is about her moving from her small and sleepy little town to try and start a new life in the city. Yes, this is a plot that we have seen a million times before in other lewd games, but the fact Jennifer is so likable makes this one stand out. Some may say that the story moves at a slow pace, but I would argue and say that it moves along at a more realistic pace.

We Know Who The Lead Is

I think that Innocence or Money does have a good story and that story is presented very well. You feel like you get to know Jennifer really well and you do build a good connection with her. However, there was a point in the game where another character was introduced and I felt like we spent way too much time with them! If you have played the game you will know what I am talking about. It was almost like it went from this being a story about this woman called Jennifer to now there being a second just as important character, but they lacked all the charm and likability that Jennifer had. I wish that they did not focus on this secondary character as much as they did, to be honest.

If you read that in a Forest Gump style voice, you are awesome and we can be friends, also I am one of the people that feel Jenny is one of the biggest villains in cinema history! Anyway, back on topic, Innocence or Money is a lewd visual novel and the idea here is that we are in control of the life of Jennifer and it is basically up to us how she handles her new life in the city. You can have her working hard at her job, making friends, trying to find love, and just be a normal and nice girl. That was the route I went as I liked Jennifer right from the start and seeing her get railed by a bunch of random dudes was not what I was looking for. However, you can go that route where you have her embrace her darker side and get really naughty. I applaud the developer for really making it feel like your choices in the game matter.

Making Me Play The Game Right Away

The first time I saw Innocence or Money was on Steam and I came across the game by accident. I watched the first trailer and it showed the basics of the game and then there was a second trailer that had Jennifer talking to the camera! This was done by AI, but it looked and sounded fantastic! The whole game has a very high end look to it and I like how the female character models are varied in their design and while they are hot, they do not look unrealistic. The dudes on the other hand are not exactly going to have Ryan Goslin up all night worrying about losing his next acting job. There are not as many sex scenes as you would think, but the ones that are here are great. They are animated and they give you control over them by letting you mess with the speed and even change the camera angle. The game also has these cinematic camera effects like slow pans every now and again which I felt added to the game.

• Your choices can make some pretty drastic changes in the story
• The game looks great
• I liked how it was more of a slow burn kind of story

Cons:

• I was not keen on that other character they introduced
• The story may not get going quick enough for some people

Plot

Usually, visual novels have a young guy in the lead role, but here you get the role of a beautiful girl named Jennifer. She, like many, came to conquer the city straight from a small village. She gets a job at a gym, but her relationship with her co-workers doesn't work out. Trainers Adam and Jimmy vying with each other to woo her back. And the girls Cassandra, Eva, and Sylvia are very unhappy that all the male attention is directed at the new girl. Even Vikki, the receptionist girl, is constantly rude to you. can you remain as pure and innocent a girl in such a difficult environment?

Gameplay

Classic text adventure gameplay - you choose phrases that will lead to one of the alternate endings.Explore the city, go shopping and cafes, shop and go on dates. Keep track of the locations of all the characters with the help of a map.
