Shadows of Desire – Chapter 5

Shadows of Desire is a lewd story drive game about corruption, and let me tell you, this game is not for you if you are not ready for an emotional rollercoaster. I will be honest and say that I am not sure exactly what I was expecting from this as I only read the synopsis and checked out a couple of screenshots. I thought the main girl was cute, so I decided to play it, and let me tell you, this is one of the hardest hitting NTR games you will have played in quite some time. If that is something you are into, you will get a massive kick out of this game as it really does not hold back!

Being The Boyfriend Of A Hottie!

No spoilers here, but I will give you the basics of the background of Shadows of Desire. Basically, we have a young man who has a very hot girlfriend called Cami, and she is a knockout. However, we are a little guy, and we have been bullied for years, but now graduation is coming, and we think that our bully will now leave us alone. Oh, our bully just so happens to be a huge alpha stud that has his eyes set on our girl. As I said, this is a corruption/NTR kind of game, and I understand that this kind of thing is a bit of an acquired taste.

Three Very Hard-Hitting Ways To Play

There are three routes in Shadows of Desire, and each one is pretty brutal for the MC. I started with the blackmail route, and oh my goodness, do these characters get put through the ringer. This is some heavy-hitting emotional abuse, and for some, I am sure it will be hard to deal with. As well as this, we have a cuckold route and a straight up cheating route. Personally, I found the cheating route where Cami more gets into it to be the best one. The thing is, no matter what route you go for, the start and middle of the game are much better than the end. I felt like they rushed the back end of the game to get it over the finish line, and as a result, the pacing seems a tad off. It is not bad, but it certainly lacks the real tension the earlier parts of the game had.

I Appreciate The Effort

As well as being shocked by how brutal some of the story elements in Shadows of Desire were, the gameplay was also something of a surprise. I came into this expecting a standard lewd visual novel, but this game has a top down, walking around pixel art section, too. It is basically going from A to B and making sure you click on the right part of the screen, but it was still interesting to see that they put this in there, as all of the story and dialogue options are done with the game CGs. I, for one, appreciate that they made a little more effort to actually make this feel more like a video game.

How Does He Walk With That Thing

Let me get the obvious about Shadows of Desire out of the way first, our dream girl Cami is an absolute babe, and I love her whole vibe and design. Any time we get to see her naked is a delight, and I also liked the little bits of animation here and there too. The other ladies that we see in the game are also very easy on the eyes too. However, we have to talk about that big monster our evil bully is packing. Look, I get that this is a fantasy, but man, this thing is pressed against her back at one point, and it is nearly the size of her whole torso! Hey, make the bull be big, but if the rest of the game has a more realistic size, do not go overboard as it kind of makes it lose a little bit of impact as it ends up being more comical than hot.

Pros:

• I liked the slow burn the first part of the game had
• The bully says some pretty wild and hot stuff
• You can go down three very different routes
• Cami is a very nice looking main character

Cons:

• The monster that dude is packing just looks hilarious
• I do feel that the final act feels a bit rushed
