Slave Harem

Slave Harem is a pretty interesting game to talk about as it feels more like a proof of concept or an early demo than a fully fledged video game. However, despite my saying that, the developer has been quite insistent that this is the full game and no updates are planned. Still, this is a real passion project that for the most part as far as I understand was completed by just one person so that is pretty impressive. This at its core is a fun lewd RPG that I think if the developer comes back to or even uses this as a starting point, could become something very special.

A New Crew To Roll With

The premise of the story in Slave Harem is that we were part of an adventure party/guild or whatever you want to call it and we ended up kicked out. Rather than call it a day, our thirst for adventure needs to be quenched so we decide to head out to add new members to our party and start over. There are some interesting characters here and the story as it went along did become more interesting, however, I will warn you, things here end on a cliffhanger and it does leave you wanting to know more. Hopefully, a sequel or at the very least a second chapter is on the way.

These Lands Are Your Lands

While Slave Harem is a lewd RPG, it is not exactly the deepest gameplay experience that you will ever encounter. I am not putting the game down at all as what is here is fun and the description is very honest about this being a short experience and I would say that even if you explore every inch of each area, you are looking at three hours max to see all that this game has to offer. The main thing that the game offers is a fun RPG style combat system that keeps the focus on being fun rather than bogging it down with a bunch of hard to figure out mechanics. You have a few different enemy types to deal with as well as some bosses. There are also dialogue sections with the characters where you are tasked with picking what you feel is the right response.

Winning You Over With Art

While the story may leave you hanging and the gameplay is not exactly all that deep, Slave Harem will surely win you over with its fantastic visuals. This is a great looking game and it features a bunch of different animated sex scenes with the various lovely looking young ladies that you will meet on your travels. These sex scenes look fantastic and have a high quality animated movie look about them. I have heard some people say that there is AI at work here, but when the end result is this good, I really do not care about whether AI was used or not. The various areas you walk around have your typical fantasy game look to them, but they are quite barren.

Making Things Right

At the end of the day, Slave Harem is a game made by one person, but I do think that is perhaps why the game does have some technical issues. Many people have reported bugs in the game and I can confirm that the trick here to stop the game freezing on you is to go into the options and turn the AA off. If you do this, you will have a much smoother experience and actually be able to play your way through to the end of the game. To be fair, the game is not unplayable or riddled with bugs, and that AA trick does seem to fix the crashing issue for most people. However, had I not read about that before I played the game, I probably would have found it very frustrating.

Pros:

• This game looks awesome
• The animated sex scenes are fantastic
• I found the combat system to be fun
• The story does have some pretty good moments

Cons:

• The game ends on a pretty big cliffhanger
• It is very short and it does have more than a few technical issues that may spoil things for you
