The Allure Of Wanton Cove

While The Allure Of Wanton Cove is a remake, it has been so long since I played the original that this was honestly pretty much a whole new experience to me, and what an experience it was!

One Last Case

The story is the best thing that this game has going for it. This is a Lovecraftian style story about a detective who had a brutal time with an unsolved case a few years back. He just wants to drink himself to death, but one day, a former partner shows up with a new clue, and before he knows it, he is pulled back into a nightmare, a nightmare that very well could break him both mentally, physically, and sexually! If you love horror in your lewd games, especially a more dark and disturbing kind of horror vibe, this is really going to get under your skin!

Sometimes Less Is More

I have always liked lewd text adventure games, and that is the best way to describe The Allure Of Wanton Cove. The thing is, this tries to do way too much; the gameplay loop is very slow-paced and while there is a stat system, I felt like I was just visiting every area to be told that there was nothing in most of them and then getting to the one I needed to be at to move the story along. It is hard to explain, but it just feels very slow-paced, almost like an 80s adventure game that came out before developers figured out how to make it a more streamlined and player-friendly experience. If I am being honest, if the story did not hook me the way that it did, I probably would have turned this off shortly after starting it!

A Twisted Tale In Deed

I am a massive fan of Lovecraftian art and stuff from the likes of HR Giger of Alien fame, by the way, go and play Alien: Isolation, it is awesome. Anyway, this game is superb with its art design, there is plenty of XXX content here, but there is more in the way of dark, twisted, and horror stuff if you ask me. There are some hot sex scenes, but there are also plenty that are more like something out of Hellraiser! It is all done very well, and perhaps the best thing I can say about the art is that it fits the tone of the twisted story that is being told here very well.

• I can see some people not liking the dark story it tells

You also shouldn’t be shocked by orgies, brothels, STDs, sex with demons, and other unconventional forms of lust
• There will be battles with monsters too, but even the same type of monster will behave differently each time
