The Blackout

As I write this The Backout review, the developer is still working on it so some of the issues that I may have with the game could be fixed by the time you play it. Anyway, if you like your lewd games to feature gorgeous looking ladies with big boobs, you are just the kind of person that this game is aimed at. I think that this is a very well made game and it just needs a little bit of tweaking to be something that goes from being decent to something that I feel is a must play.

Where Am I, How Did I Get Here?

The story that The Blackout is telling starts off really good. Our main character basically passes out and wakes up without any knowledge of what is going on, how he got here, and so on. It starts off with a real mystery vibe and that was something that got me pretty invested in what was going on and did drive me forward to keep on playing to see how it turns out.

Keep Hanging On

While the premise of the story that The Blackout is telling has a lot of promise, I just feel like the dialogue goes on a little bit too much. There are some interesting and great ladies in this game and I wanted to get to know each one and I think that the developer is going for that. However, there is too much “waffle” going on where you just do not care about the dialogue and I can see that being something that turns some people off from the game.

Well Hello There!

By far the best thing that The Blackout has going on is the incredible character renders. This is really what kept pushing me forward. This game has a great collection of ladies and their designs are very appealing with tight bodies and huge boobs! I also really liked the way they were dressed, I actually preferred seeing these character models in their lingerie rather than just being naked all the time.

Get Out Of The Sandbox

The gameplay I feel is one area that The Blackout needs to be very careful within the way that it progresses. The game is currently listed as a sandbox game, but I would say that this is more of a visual novel and if anything, they need to knuckle down and focus on the story and keep this being visual novel. The sandbox element at play here is perhaps the most basic I have ever seen in a game like this. You just click on an area and then the visual novel plays out, it feels completely pointless and I think the game would be better if they ditched this aspect of it.

Pros:

• I liked the mystery aspect that the story has at the very start
• The game has some truly sexy and appealing character renders
• I liked the way the story progressed in the early part of the game
• It is still being worked on so the issues could be fixed

Cons:

• The sandbox elements feel completely tacked on
• Some of the dialogue needs to be streamlined
