The God of Yuri School

As someone that loves lewd visual novels, The God of Yuri School was a game that I was very interested in trying out. I had heard some rather mixed things about it, but those who like the game seem to really, really like it so that made me want to give it the old college try. I was surprised that there were some pretty dark themes here so it may not be the game for you if you just want a game where cute girls are getting railed, there is a bit more depth than that here.

Is It Really A “Dream” Situation?

The premise of The God of Yuri School is something that is very interesting. We have all played games before where we are “god” and we get to decide what is going to happen and so on. Playing as God can be fun, especially in a lewd game where it can mean we get to just have our pick of all the sexy girls. One of the things that this game does very well is that it plays on the whole moral aspect of having this amount of control. Yes, we can use our powers and influence to get what we want, but should we do that?

The Consequences Of Great Power

I was surprised at how dark the story of The God of Yuri School got! Yes, you can just use your god powers in this world for sex, but there are some major consequences of that and the MC deals with this in a pretty interesting way. I think that this was a very clever and unique approach for the game to take to be honest with you, suicide is in this game for example and that hit me pretty damn hard. Yes, you have all this power, but if you play around with people too much, it can have devastating and brutal consequences that we then have to try and deal with which is easier said than done.

Learning As You Go

I will admit that when I heard the premise of The God of Yuri School and that the idea was I could have this harem of cute girls to pretty much do what I want with, I was sure I knew which way I was going to play the game. However, the way that the game handles its choices and makes you start to question the things that you are doing is done incredibly well. Yes, this is a standard lewd visual novel from the gameplay, but I think that the way it tugs at your morals really does make the gameplay experience a bit deeper than you would think.

Making Me Ask Myself Some Hard Questions

I do feel like I need to point out that as I write this, The God of Yuri School is not yet 100 percent complete and that could be the reason as to why the animation is lacking. It is a real shame too as there are some cute character renders here. However, there are a few (one in particular) that I feel verge on looking too much on the young side! Now, in the games defense, I do wonder if this is intentional to make some of those choices even harder to make!

Pros:

• The story was far darker than I thought it would be
• Some of the character renders are very cute
• It is one of the more interesting “God” type lewd games I have played
• They are still working on adding more chapters to the game

Cons:

• There are just a couple of places where the translation needs a bit of work
• The game looks great, but a few of the characters look a bit too much on the young side for me
