Wars & Roses is an exciting new FPS game that includes both the action of a first person shooter, the flirtiness of a dating sim, and the passion many people have for military girls. No matter what style of game you’re into, chances are there’s an element of it rolled into this unique game.

As one can imagine for a dating sim turned shooter, the game is rated for a mature audience. Players work to gain affection from a variety of military girls whom they also perform operations with in intense missions. If you were hungry for something more realistic looking after playing “Call of Onii Chan” you might find this game worth a second look.

Decent graphics

For the most part, the graphics of the girls are well detailed. The hair on them is a little bit stiff, but their bodies are well formed, move naturally, and their clothing looks fairly realistic as well. The backgrounds are fairly good, but it’s difficult to see how camera angles and movement pan out due to the early stages of the game available for reviewing.

Pick one of 8 girls to date

Each of the girls has a unique storyline. You can date them, go with them on missions, and get gifts to impress them. Each girl is different, with unique personalities and dialogue. You’ll learn more about them both through the dating sim, and through going out with them on missions.

Video of one of the girls in the date simulation gives us a better idea of what you can expect from the game. The video shows the girl in different outfits, a few dialogue options, and a few different backgrounds. The girl’s animations are very minimal, with her holding the same pose for unnaturally long periods of time while you go through the different conversations. The dialogue usually gives you two options, with different results depending on whether the girl likes what you said, or didn’t like it. You’ll have better luck impressing the girl if you bring her a gift or say the right things.

Sneaky AI and Bullet Physics

The game also claims to have AI smart enough to be sneaky during the missions, as well as realistic bullet physics. These are unconfirmed due to lack of video and other information on the game. It’s impossible to tell how good these are until the game releases, which won’t be until December.

Larger storyline

Besides the dating SIM, the first person shooter side of things involves fighting terrorists on various maps. You can earn money through these missions to upgrade your weapons and armor. You can also use that money to buy gits to impress the girls, tying the two sides of the game together a little better.
