WORMHOLE CAFE

I was very interested to try out Wormhole Café as I was keeping a close eye on it in the weeks leading up to its release. I am really into sci-fi and I thought the title alone sounded interesting and got my mind racing with ideas and thoughts about what this could be. Well, turns out that this game is not a lewd visual novel which I think it should have been. Instead, what we have here with this game is a sex simulator style of game with very little story, it has an interesting premise, but it is never built upon.

Not Your Everyday Kind Of Café

I am someone that loves stuff like parallel dimensions, wormholes, aliens, and all that kind of stuff. Wormhole Café, I thought was going to be a game that offered something like that and it kind of does. You see, in this world, wormholes are a thing and you can use them to travel and have things brought to you. I am not sure exactly what kind of wormholes these are as it is never really explained. However, we are walking down the street and come across this café that has food, drinks, and chicks that you can get via these wormholes.

Spice Up Your Life

That was a Spice Girls reference because there are four girls in Wormhole Café like there are four Spice Girls, but now that I have said that, I am not sure if Gerri rejoined or not. Anyway, back on topic, we have four different girls in this game, Yua is a nurse, Ichika is a photographer, Sara loves to cosplay and Yui is some weird spirit. I think the idea of the story and the girls are good, but there is no real story here telling you much of anything interesting about these girls, I think this was a real missed opportunity.

Remember how I said that I felt this game would have been better if it were a lewd visual novel? Well, I stand by that because Wormhole Café has next to no gameplay. There are no choices that you need to make at all in this game, you pick your girl and then you get to watch a sex scene with that girl and you can move the camera around. That is all there really is to this game as far as the gameplay goes. I think they had such a great premise here that having this be a lewd visual novel would have been so much better than what they ultimately did.

A 360 Anime Style

I have heard some people say that they are not fans of the presentation of Wormhole Café. To be fair, I actually like the look of the game. The game has a very anime style, but an anime video game is what I am talking about, specifically something that we would have seen on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 ten or so years ago. The four different girls all have a similar look about them, apart from their faces and boobs. The sex scenes do have animation and while they are short, I do feel that they are animated pretty well. It is not a bad looking game at all, I just wish that there was more of it.

Pros:

• The game has four girls to interact with
• I liked the idea of the Wormhole Café as it was a sci-fi type thing
• I thought the presentation of the game was good
• This game is good if you just want some quick sex action in your game

Cons:

• The premise is great, but there is no actual story here
• I wish that they made this a lewd visual novel instead of a sex simulator
