I had a really good time playing through 53x – Homecoming. This is a lewd visual novel that feels more softcore than what you would usually expect from a game like this. Do not get me wrong, there is plenty of sex here, but it is not as “in your face” as these types of games tend to be. What really made me get invested in this game was that the whole mystery of the story was something I really wanted to get to the bottom of.

You Can Never Go Home!

I do not want to spoil much in terms of the story that 53x – Homecoming is telling as the story is the best part of this game. You are a guy who has just graduated college and your dad has come to pick you up and take you home. Things seem normal enough, but you end up in a car accident, your father dies and you end up in a coma for a year! When you wake you are in a strange town, with three women who you do not know. It is great stuff and I found myself really caring about what was going on and not just trying to get to the next sex scene.

Movies For Adults

Back when I was a kid, you would get these softcore porn movies that would air on a channel that I for the life of me cannot remember the name of. Anyway, 53x – Homecoming has a kind of vibe like that. The game has some fantastic character models and getting to see them nude is awesome, but most of the sex is a bit scaled back, there is sex in this game, but the camera never really “gets in there” if you know what I am saying. The thing is, I actually like this, it gives the game more of a personality and it made me take more interest in the story. Sometimes less is more and I think in the case of this game that works to its advantage.

Reading The Room

If you have played a lewd visual novel game before, you know what to expect with 53x – Homecoming. Most of what you are doing here is reading the story and as the story is so good and the characters so interesting, you do get invested in what is going on. You get to make various choices as the story moves along and I think that these choices greatly vary in regards to if they make a difference to the plot or not.

I had a really fun time with 53x – Homecoming. I do not think it is the kind of game I would play through again as the story was the main draw for me here and now that I have seen it through, my desire to play the game is gone. Still, as a one and done kind of game, this is one of the better visual novels that I have played this year. I had a really fun time with this game and if lewd visual novels are your jam, I am pretty sure that you will really enjoy this game.
