Today we are taking a look at A Girl And Her Dog which is a lewd RPG and visual novel style of game that from what I can tell is abandoned. There is still a few chapters of the game out there so I thought it would be fun to see what this is all about. I must admit, I came into this game a little worried, I mean a lewd game with a title like this! It could have been pretty messed up stuff we were dealing with here if you know what I am saying!

You Called Your Dog What?

As someone who loves dogs, A Girl And Her Dog appealed to me as it is a story about a cute girl trying to find her dog. The thing is, this dog for some reason is called Dickmeat. That is right, in this game the dog you are trying to find and save is called Dickmeat. The story has our heroine, Naida exploring the land and getting into many shenanigans along the way.

The Bones For Something Good

As I said, A Girl And Her Dog is a game that has been abandoned and that is rather unfortunate as I think they were onto something here. The gameplay is a mixture of styles. You get to explore various areas, taking on a few quests and getting into combat too. There are also visual novel elements as well where you will be in a conversation with someone and have to decide what the best way to respond is. It is mixed very well, but as the game was rather early in development there is not much to do and it quite abruptly ends.

If Disney Did Anime

Visually, I really like the direction that they went with A Girl And Her Dog. It is a game that is very easy on the eyes where the characters have a kind of Disney with a bit of anime about it. I like what they have done here, the actual gameplay sections do not look like what you would expect from a lewd game like this as the characters are not your typical chibi RPG Maker pixelated sprites as they have a bit more detail about them.

The visual novel elements are strange in that on one side of the screen you have Naida and on the other the character you are talking to, you then have the choices in the middle. This is not bad, but it is a little weird.

Overall, I think that there were some very good ideas in A Girl And Her Dog. I liked the way that the story was played more for laughs and I think that they were onto something pretty cool here. While the game was nowhere near complete, I still think what is here is worth checking out as for a game that still had a long way to go, it is far more polished than you would think.
