Iragon

I have to say that Iragon seems like a very ambitious lewd game. As I write this today, the game is not complete, but I did spend quite a bit of time with the most recent version and I really wanted to get my thoughts down while they were fresh. I played the game in “normal” mode. However, it is my understanding that you can also play the game in VR as well. Think of this as a “titillating” hack and slash style of game and you will have a fair idea of what to expect here.

Fantasy In A High Fantasy Land

I will be honest with you; I had no freaking clue what was going on with the story in Iragon. The basics from what I can tell are that we are a poor boy who comes across a very attractive girl and we agree to try and help her get home. That is the basics of the main plot and as this is a fantasy world, there are all kinds of creatures and evildoers that want to get in our way. I am sure the story will be fleshed out at some point, but I do think they could have done a better job of explaining what is actually happening here.

Hey There Big Eyes

What drew me to Iragon was the very bright and colorful visuals. It has a kind of cell shaded look going on and I think those big eyes that the characters have are kind of cute, but I can see how some people will not like them. I get some Dragon Quest and “Warriors” style game vibes from the way that the game looks and I mean that in a good way. They do say that there is sex in this game, but you do not get to see full XXX scenes, to be honest, I was fine with the lewd stuff that I came across, but I can see why some people may find it disappointing.

Hack, Slash, and Dodge

I came into Iragon thinking that it was going to be a kind of hack and slash kind of adventure, similar to what we have with the various Warriors games. I do think that there is a bit of that here, but the combat is very shallow, you just hack and slash at enemies and all you really have to defend yourself is this evade/dodge maneuver. The game feels quite clunky and slow paced and this aspect really does need some work. You are encouraged to explore to find new items, gold, mana, and so on so that does open things up a bit. I just felt that the whole game had a very basic and half cooked kind of vibe to it the whole time I was playing it. To be fair, I was not playing the finished version so by the time the game is done, these issues could be fixed.

Pros:

• I liked the bright and colorful visuals of the game
• It has a kind of Warriors thing going on with the gameplay
• You can play this in VR if you have the right setup
• I think that the developers do seem like they are on the right track with this game

Cons:

• The gameplay feels very stiff, basic, and kind of clunky right now
• The lewd content may not be XXX or frequent enough for some people
