CyberpunkXXX

CyberpunkXXX is very much a work in progress, but even though the game is far from being complete, I was so impressed by what I saw here, I had to talk about it. Now, keep in mind, this is a hugely ambitious game and the fact it is only being made by a handful of people means that it is probably a very long way from being complete. As someone who loves sci-fi and cyberpunk, I knew I had to give this a try and while there is not much in the current state (as of me writing this) I can see the potential shining through like a neon advertising board in night city!

Not The Future We Want

One thing that I have to give the team behind CyberpunkXXX a ton of credit for is their world building. The game takes place in a future where a government has risen that rules by any means necessary and mankind now lives in these cybernetic style cities where their rules go and those who oppose, meet a grisly end. Look, I know that this is the setting and story for pretty much every cyberpunk game/movie, but the reason for that is it all works and I think these guys have a clear vision for where they want their story to go and that is something I feel is very cool.

Taking It Back

This government has been ruling things for over 30 years! As you would expect, CyberpunkXXX features a hero that wants to put a stop to this way of life and that is where we come in. There are two playable characters, but I am not certain if that is going to change the story, depending on the one that you pick. So far, I am loving this world and how it all is built. I am legit excited to see how this all pans out. I know that the comparisons to Cyberpunk 2077 are unavoidable, but I think they are doing enough here to tell their own fun and interesting cyberpunk story.

The Ultimate Cyber Baddy

With CyberpunkXXX being a 3rd person action game, I honestly could not be any more impressed by the ambition of these guys! So far, there is not exactly a great deal to do in the game as it is still a long way off. However, my character controlled fine, gunplay seemed to be there, and navigating the city was enjoyable. I did not get to play around with a bunch of weapons, use vehicles or even see the XXX content. What is here is very, very early, more like a proof of concept, but I truly can see the potential here!

Just Waiting For Johnny Silverhand To Show Up!

I guess you could argue that if you have seen one cyberpunk movie/game you have seen them all as they do all have a certain look. CyberpunkXXX is no different, it captures that cyberpunk look and feel and I am really liking what they have done here so far. I have only seen the teases of the XXX content that they have released, but the big thick characters are certainly something I like. They have a lot of the world in place here and I am liking what they have done so far. I also have to say that the game did run pretty well with a smooth framerate so I have no complaints there.

Pros:

• I like the world that they are building here
• It tells a cool cyberpunk story
• The visuals look great even at this early stage
• This is going to be a big 3rd person action game

Cons:

• The current build (as of writing) is very early in development with very little content
• I have not seen any of the XXX content yet
