Enderal

I am sure many of you have heard of Enderal and I have to say that it is one of the best mods, conversions, or whatever you want to call it for any game that I have played. It is a very well-made mod/game and it is completely free as long as you have a copy of skyrim on your computer. So, if you ask me, you have nothing to lose by checking this game out!

Stopping The Cleansing

One thing that I am pretty blown away by with Enderal is the level of storytelling. The Elder Scrolls Series is known for its storytelling and this matches anything that series has done. The basics of the story are that we are trying to get away and start a new life, but things go wrong and we end up washed up on a shore… where we discover that we have magical powers.

You go to Ark which is the capital of Enderal and you want to know how to control these powers. You soon learn that a cataclysmic event known as The Cleansing is on its way and with your new powers you may be just the only one who can stop it. There is far more to the story than that, but in all, it is a very well written fantasy story that I found very engrossing.

The All-Star Team

The amount of polish that this game has is just staggering, I would believe it if you told me that Enderal was made by a AAA studio, that is how well done this is. They have created a bunch of new lands, assets, creatures, and so on for this game and it all looks wonderful. It is done so well that you will forget it is a mod of Skyrim.

A huge reason that the story works so well is that this game has voice acting. This is not basic voice acting either, it is done very well and each performance works and helps get the point of the story across. From a presentational point of view, I really cannot fault this at all.

Have You Played Skyrim?

If you have played Skyrim before then you will get a real sense of familiarity when you play Enderal. I do not mean that as a bad thing at all, that game was mechanically very solid and the changes they have made here such as weapons, classes, and so on work very well, and feel like they could have been an official add on to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

It is an action RPG that has you on an epic quest to save the day. As you would expect there are main quest lines, but there are also many side quests that you can take part in too. It is the kind of game that can easily take you 50 plus hours to see all that it has to offer.

Pros:

• I cannot believe how well made this is
• There are tons of quests to go on
• I thought the story was excellent
• The voice acting is as good as any AAA game

Cons:

• If you did not like Skyrim, you will not like this
• At the end of the day, it is a fan game
