Half Billion: Love Choice

Back in the 90s, I thought FMV was the future of video games, and Half Billion: Love Choice is bringing that back! This is a very interesting lewd game. On the surface, this looks like a typical dating sim that is going to have your typical dating sim elements…. And that is kind of here, to be honest with you. However, this is also a business management sim as well and it is the way that the game juggles the two that makes this such an interesting title.

Half A Billion To Start Your Life

One of the things that I think is very interesting about Half Billion: Love Choice is the story. We play the son of a very rich man and we want to try and forge our own way in the world of business. Our father gave us half a billion to start our business, however, we have three years to make a profit. If we do not do this, we have to go back to our father's company and work for him. To be fair, I think that the dad here is giving the son one hell of an opportunity so I liked the dynamic here.

Making Money Or Making Love

As well as the whole business aspect of Half Billion: Love Choice, we meet a chick in a club very early on in the game and this starts our romantic path. There are several ladies that we get to know as the game progresses and how these relationships play out is basically up to us. What I liked about the way the story here was told was that the business running had a real effect on the romantic relationships. Hey, you may want to take your special lady out on a date, but if there is a work thing, you may have to make a difficult decision.

Making Every Penny Count

The business aspect of Half Billion: Love Choice is something that really did take me by surprise. Half a billion is a great deal of money, but you have to spend that on your everyday living, but the real thing here is that you need to invest and try to make a big profit. This is easier said than done as different investments come with different risks. Some of the investments and business deals are tied to the story and others are more extra things that you can do. Now, as well as the money, you have to try and build and grow your relationships with the various ladies. I am not sure how dynamic this is and what is really a choice and what is not, but it did feel like some of these choices had some major weight to them.

Some Real Sega Blast Processing

It was the Sega CD (or Sega Mega CD if you prefer) that made me a believer in the FMV craze, kind of crazy when you look at how bad the FMV quality was on that console. Half Billion: Love Choice has its story sections played out by real talented actors who do a wonderful job of making you feel like you are in this world and the quality is just fantastic, so clear and so well done! The “game” stuff looks solid as well, it is not jarring when you go from a video section to a game section at all. In all, the game as far as the presentation goes is incredible. Oh, the voice acting and the acting in general are awesome, but it is not in English.

Pros:

• The ladies are very easy on the eyes
• I actually really enjoyed the various stories that the game told
• The business management aspect is very addictive
• The way it blends the two gameplay styles is very well done

Cons:

• You do miss some of the visuals as you have to focus on the subtitles
• I am not sure if some of my choices have any actual weight to them

Half Billion: Love Choice is a visual novel and dating simulator that will introduce you to the definitions of a rich life. Maybe your dream will come true and you will become someone important in your position, but the test is about to begin and this is the most demanding assignment of your life. Spend 500 million so that your boss will be convinced of your conscientiousness and promote you to a new position. Go to the rich life preview and spend this money as you wish. Money may not buy love, but it will definitely help you find it.
