Paradise of Desire

You have no idea how much I want to love Paradise of Desire! This is a lewd game that is also a shooter and it has some fantastic ideas. Now, I will tell you that as I write this the game is only a couple of weeks old so perhaps some of the “issues” I have with the game will be taken care of by the time you get around to playing it. I am not saying what is here is bad, but I think with just a few tweaks it could go from being a decent lewd shooter to something great and very special.

Be You Angels!

I wish that I could tell you what exactly the story in Paradise of Desire is all about, but I had such a hard time following it I am not sure what the deal is. The thing is, I get the impression there is an awesome sci-fi style story being told here. You see the world is changing, little things at first like the lyrics to a song being different or something being a different color, but then major things start to change and you realize that not all is right with the world.

The Fab Five!

Paradise of Desire has these five angels/demons that we can control and each lady has her own style about her. Each character has her own weapons and abilities so there is a lot of reason to try out different girls to see which one you like best. However, with that being said, while the story may change depending on the girl you have selected. From what I played, the gameplay never really got any more in-depth than what I experienced in the opening 10 or so minutes of the game.

Blasting Away

One of the main reasons that I wanted to check out Paradise of Desire was because on Steam it has the FPS tag and there are not many lewd first person shooters out there. I would probably say that what we have here is more of a gallery/light gun style of shooter than an FPS. You move the crosshair around the screen and shoot the creepy creatures. You can use special ammo and abilities so that adds a bit of variety to the gameplay. I actually thought the gameplay was fun and quite exciting, to be honest with you, the shooting gallery sections are my favorite thing about this game.

A Dark, But Beautiful Cast

Visually, Paradise of Desire is something I feel is a bit of a mixed bag. The five ladies that we can play as look great, I love the red demon looking one best, but the angelic looking chick that we play as at the start certainly has her charms. As this is a game that is taking place in a “messed up” kind of world, we have a game that is kind of dark and dreary in most places, but those character renders which are bright and look great do make up for this.

Pros:

• The shooter gameplay is way more fun than you would think
• There are five playable characters
• I feel that there is a good story in here somewhere
• I liked the way the female characters looked

Cons:

• I am not sure if it is the translation, but the story was near impossible for me to follow
• Some may find the cross hair shooter gameplay a bit basic
