I was not sure what to expect when I jumped into Powers That Be, a lewd CG game that is very heavily story-driven. The game is chapter-based and as I write this you are able to play through 9 chapters and there are hundreds of images for you to look at as you play the game. If lewd games that use CG art are your thing, you might want to give this a look. If visual novels are usually your thing, I am sure this is one that you will find quite interesting.

With A Little Sci-Fi

I will say right off the bat that incest storylines are not usually my cup of tea and even though there is a bit of that here, Powers That Be is far more than just that. The story is about a middle-aged dude who has quite an interesting life. He has a hot ex-wife a stepdaughter who is also hot and a goddaughter that is starting to develop supernatural powers!

This is a really cool twist. I love sci-fi stuff in my games and the way that this “ability” is handled in the game is very much grounded in reality. It works very well and it made me want to play all of the chapters that are currently available. The story is very much a slow burn so I can see that putting some people off, but it certainly worked on me.

For Good Or Bad?

Powers That Be is a visual novel game at its heart, but the choices you make do make the story go in a certain direction. If you have played any type of visual novel game before be it a lewd one or not, you will know what you are getting into here right from the start. The game to me has a strong enough story that it more than made up for the lack of actual gameplay.

How Much Lewdness???

This is a great looking game and I say that as a person who is more into animated looking games than these high-tech realistic-looking CG ones. Currently, the game has over 700 images that move the story along and these are done in a very high-quality way. the character models look great, the backdrops are very fitting and this is one game where I liked the realistic aspect that it had.

The nudity in the game is very well done and as the characters look so good it is very easy to find it appealing. Even though there is a lack of full animation, what is here is done so well that you do not notice it.

I was very impressed with Powers That Be and I really do hope that they make more chapters to this. Granted as far as the gameplay goes, there is not a great deal here. While the story does start off slow, I found the whole thing with the girl’s supernatural powers to be very interesting, especially considering that the game is grounded in reality. If you like lewd visual novels, give this one a try.
