Shale Hill Secrets

Shale Hill Secrets is a lewd game that comes so close to being a must play. I had fun with this and the developer behind the game clearly put a lot of love and time into it, but it is one of those games that is perhaps too ambitious for its own good. Still, if you enjoy lewd games that have a story that is about a mystery then you are going to be in for a good time with this game. I am actually tempted to jump back in and give this a second play through to see if I enjoy it even more.

Working The Help Desk!

The plot of Shale Hill Secrets is trying to be some deep and mysterious story and it so nearly pulls it off. You are a guy working on the tech help desk for this university and you discover that you can find everyone’s secrets, from finding nudes to learning that someone is trying to hire a hitman! You are also trying to find love as well as trying to get to the bottom of this conspiracy.

A Little Too Wordy

I think that the story that is being told here in Shale Hill Secrets is pretty solid. I like how the MC can use what he is finding out to try and benefit his own love life all the while trying to solve this conspiracy, I really do appreciate how they want to tell a compelling and interesting story. The problem is that like many lewd visual novel/sandbox games it can be a tad too wordy and over explain things and go on for longer than necessary. I get that they are going for world/character building here, but it is a bit too much.

Like A Movie

One of the things that no one can fault about Shale Hill Secrets is that it looks incredible. The production values here are sky high, some of the best that I have seen in a lewd game. There is a great variety to the character models, not just in regards to the lewd and main characters, but even the supporting cast has had a lot of time and effort put into them. There are also some fantastic animated lewd scenes in the game too and thanks to the high quality renders, these really are a joy to see.

Sometimes Less Is More!

The gameplay of Shale Hill Secrets is something that I think could be better if it were streamlined a bit. It is like a typical lewd visual novel in many ways where you have to read the story and make choices in regards to what you say and also what you do. There are also sandbox elements too which is what I feel the game could do without. From doing stuff like having to go to bed and being at certain places at certain times feels like it is tacked on and can affect the flow of things. I am not saying it is bad or anything like that, but streamlining it a tad would have made for an even better experience.

Pros:

• I like how they have a love and mystery story here
• The presentation of this game is some of the best you will see
• The lewd content really is fantastic
• It is one of the higher end lewd games I have played

Cons:

• The writing is good, but some scenes go on way too long
• The sandbox elements slow the pace of the game down
