Tavern of Spear

Tavern of Spear is a lewd game that I have been meaning to talk about for a while now. This is a lewd visual novel that has a gay furry/monster style to it and it actually has a very high end look and feel about it. As I write this, the game is still being worked on, but to say the quality of this title has blown me away is a massive understatement. The polish and quality of the art is truly some of the best that I have seen in any lewd game that I have experienced this year!

Making Connections

As of me writing this, Tavern of Spear still has a long way to go as far as the overall plot and lore of the game goes. What I can tell you is that the main setting of this game is a tavern and the main character that we play as is a wolf warrior that is part of The Lost Spear Tribe. They have laid the groundwork for a truly fantastic and epic fantasy world here and even in the rather early stage that the game is in as I have played it, I can truly see the potential for something great here. The writing so far is great and they have laid many breadcrumbs that I am sure will blossom into big story points as it progresses.

All About The Characters

While Tavern of Spear is a gay furry/monster kind of game, these are some of the most human characters that you will encounter. What I love about this game so far is that the characters that I have encountered and interacted with all feel like they are fleshed out real characters. You have your dark and brooding types of characters, but there are also those who are more joyful and outgoing. Even in the early state that I played this in, the characters were well developed and diverse and I look forward to getting to know them even more.

A True Work Of Art

Even if you are not someone who is into the whole furry monster thing, Tavern of Spear is something that you have to admit is a pure work of art. I get some Dragons Crown vibes from the whole style of this game and that is a very good thing. Of course, the gay and furry/monster theming does mean that it may be something of an acquired taste, however, I was completely blown away by the quality of the visuals. I also got a kick out of how the developer shared some of the concept art and production stuff too. It makes you appreciate how great this game looks even more.

Staying For The Story

As of me writing this, the story of Tavern of Spear revolves around our young wolf warrior, Eyvind, and his experiences in this tavern. The game is played in the same classic style as a lewd visual novel. You read parts of the story and try to get to know the characters and their motivations so that you can make the right response to move the story in the direction you want it to go in. At the moment, there is not a ton of gameplay here, but I have a feeling multiple paths and endings are going to be a part of this so I am very excited to see where the next chapter goes.

Pros:

• This game has some of the best art I have seen
• It is cool how it is a gay themed lewd visual novel
• There are some very interesting characters
• It is one of the best lewd visual novels of the year!

Cons:

• The game does appear to be a long way from being complete
• You do have to get a kick out of gay furry/monster characters to appreciate this
