When I saw the images for 1room: Runaway Girl I thought that the main girl was super cute and I would not wait to have my wicked way with her in the game. The thing is, this is a lewd game that completely took me by surprise. The reason I say that is that I am not ashamed to admit that I came here for that super cute anime-style booty. However, I ended up staying for the emotional impact that the game offered.

On The Midnight Train

The story of 1room: Runaway Girl is something that at first you go, “ah, I know where this is going!”. You are a regular Joe just waiting for your train home when you are approached by a cute, but sad-looking girl called, Yuu. Yuu is cute, but you can tell that there is far more going on here than just a girl being horny.

She says that if you take her home and look after her, she will take all of your stress away and try to make you happy. I do not want to go too much into it, but I was very surprised by the emotional connection that I had with this game. I will say that the main story is very short and it left me wanting just that little bit more with Yuu.

When Vision And Picture Collide

I think that the presentation of 1room: Runaway Girl is just fantastic. I want to start by talking about the visuals. This game looks like it is done in a watercolor kind of style. Yuu looks great and I think that her design manages to make her look both cute and vulnerable at the same time. The different backgrounds are detailed enough and the sex in the game is very XXX so if you are here for the lewd content, you will be very happy.

As well as being a good-looking game, 1room: Runaway Girl has some fantastic sound design too. The music is very low key and that is something I liked as I felt that it fit the story very well. More than the music, it is the ambient sound that really hit a chord with me from the pitter-patter of feet, the rain, the sounds of the train, and so on.

Just A Little Bit More

You will be surprised at how quickly you can get Yuu naked in 1room: Runaway Girl. However, while you are trying to get it on with her, you also have to try and build some kind of connection with her. You have money in the game, but I am not sure what that is here as you make money very easily in the game, but there are these “points” in the game. Everything you do requires the use of points. You want to have sex with her? That uses points. What I liked about this was that the points you use, you usually earn them back and even more from most activities. There is a bit of an adventure game/visual novel thing going on too where you have to make various choices in the game to move things along.

Pros:

• I thought that Yuu was a very interesting character
• Yuu is very cute and very naughty in the bedroom
• There are plenty of choices that can be made in the game
• The sound design in this game is great

Cons:

• There is talk of sexual assault in the game
• It does leave you wanting more

For those of you who want a bit a lewd game with some real heart, 1room -Runaway Girl- is a game that is very easy for me to recommend. Sure, you may have had your attention grabbed by the cute looking girl. However, this is a game that tells a wonderful story, a story with a character that you truly will grow to care about. This is a very emotional kind of game and a game that will not be quickly forgotten once you have played through it. Speaking of which, this is a rather short experience too, making it perfect if you want a game you can beat in one sitting.

The story of 1room -Runaway Girl- is the strongest aspect of this whole package. We are playing the role of just a normal guy who is waiting for his train after a long day. Well, before the train can take us home, a strange, but cute girl called Yuu comes towards us. She has a real vulnerability about her and she asks us to take her home with us. She also says that if we take her home and make sure she is ok, she will ensure that we are free from stress…. Yeah, I know what you are thinking and I was thinking it too, there was only one way that this was going to go and that was us having all the sex we could handle with Yuu!

Feelings Making You Feel Things

What really shocked me with 1room -Runaway Girl- was that while of course, you get to have sex with Yuu. She is not just this “object” that is there to satisfy your sexual desires. This game does a truly fantastic job of making you really connect with her and see her as a person, a friend, and someone that you truly do care about. It is very emotional stuff and it was honestly not something that I was expecting or prepared for. The writing is very well done and many times when I was talking to Yuu, my reaction was either “That is hot” or “aww”.

Making Things Right

The story of 1room -Runaway Girl- is great and Yuu is such a great character that you may think that what we have here is a lewd visual novel. It certainly has many lewd visual novel elements in it where you have to make key choices and also try to pick the right thing to say to Yuu. However, you also have some adventure game elements too as there is money and a points system and the points system is very important as you use points when you do things. Even engaging in a bit of afternoon delight with Yuu is going to cost you some points. It is not complicated at all and to be honest, I never found myself once worried that I would run out of points or money, but it just adds a bit more spice to the traditional lewd visual novel stuff the game has going on.

From The Hand Of An Artist

Look, you do not need me to tell you that Yuu is an absolutely gorgeous looking young woman. However, 1room -Runaway Girl- is a game that I would honestly describe as a work of art. This is a very impressive looking game, it almost has a hand painted kind of look to it and that just makes the emotional elements of the story have even more impact. While I have spent most of this review talking about the lovey-dovey and emotional stuff, let's not forget, that this is still a lewd game! This game has some very hardcore sex scenes and I was kind of shocked at how quickly we got to see Yuu in all her glory, hey I am not complaining at all and to be honest, it makes sense in the story that she gets naked as quickly as she does.

• I fell in love with Yuu pretty much right from the start
• The game gets to the XXX content very quickly
• I love the whole art style they went for with this game
• It has fun gameplay, but it is very easy to play through

• There are some darker themes in the game that some may find tough
• I love the art style, but it may not be for everyone
