Ok, so Cat's Kiss which is the lewd game we are talking about today is currently in “early access” so I guess we do have to take that into consideration. I mean, after I read the description of the game, I was pretty excited to play it as cat girls have always been a thing I have found cute. It promised to be more than just a visual novel game so I thought that there could be something pretty interesting here to make it worth my while to take a closer look at it.

I Think I Get It!

Look, the translation here is an absolute mess. The majority of Cat's Kiss is in mandarin so I had a hard time following the plot, but the number of typos and sentences that just made no sense was through the roof. This is a real shame as the premise was something that I thought had the potential to be a great deal of fun.

Basically, there is a lovely young lady who has been cursed to be a cat. She needs a kiss from you to make her human and this needs to happen every day. The basics are you are trying to get a relationship going so you can have as much sex as possible. The story is all over the place and sometimes it would start saying things that I had no clue about and this was because they were referencing something I had not done!

Getting By On Good Looks

I would wager that most of you who decide to give Cat's Kiss a try will do so because of the images. This is a game that has some great hand drawn anime style art and it is done very well. The sexy characters pop to life and there is a great deal to like about the art that is here. I say the art that is here because you will be seeing the same scenes over and over again! Thankfully you can skip things in the game, but it still gets a bit on the boring side. Oh, as of writing there is no animation either! I am sure this will be added, but for now, it makes you lose interest pretty quickly.

While there is certainly a bit of visual novel-style gameplay in Cat's Kiss where you have to read what is being said and then act accordingly. You do also have to make other choices as well. Where to go and what to buy are the main things. You are ultimately working towards getting her interest at a higher level, your stamina and money also need to be grinded for and this takes ages.

You can buy things to help you, but they are very expensive a movie card so you can go on a date is 100 of the game’s currency. There is just so much stuff that is not needed that it can be very frustrating when you grind for it to be a huge waste of your time.

I have to say in the current state I would not say that Cat's Kiss is worth your time. I think the premise and the artwork here are great, but this is a game that needs a great deal of work put into it. However, at the end of the day, the game is in early access and that is what early access is for. To iron out the kinks and get the game in the best shape possible so hopefully, the developer will take things on board and make this a fun game.

Pros:

I liked the art
The idea of a cat girl being cursed is kind of neat
The sex is very hardcore
They at least tried to make a game of this

Cons:

The game has a very, very rough translation to the point the story makes no sense
This is a real grind fest and it gets boring and frustrating very quickly
