Lewd Island

Sometimes an erotic visual novel game will have a “theme” that is a little uneasy and I feel that is the case with Lewd Island that I am looking at today. This is a very adult-themed visual novel and if you are turned off by the idea of incest then you may want to give this one a miss.

Remember The TV Show Lost?

Ok, so my comparison might be a bit of a stretch here, but when I first heard about the concept of Lewd Island the awesome TV show Lost was what came to mind. Of course, Lost was not filled with graphic incest, but it was about people who were lost on an island. That is the main theme here, we have two people and they end up lost on a deserted island with only a small shack, some canned food and themselves for company.

The game is spread over different days and you will get to make some decisions as you play. What is strange about this is that none of your decisions seem to matter in the grand scheme of things. The game is also known to have an issue with saving as sometimes when you try to progress to the next day it simply will not work.

Close, But So Far

I will admit right away the incest thing does nothing for me at all and if anything, it is a negative that this game has going for it. If they took this out, then the idea of two people being on an island and getting closer and closer is something that I would actually find quite appealing.

Look At Those…. Models

I think the presentation of Lewd Island is pretty darn good. There is a nice and smooth quality to all the CG artwork and animations and I can clearly tell this is where most of the development time went into. For me, the best part of this game is the presentation. I would love to see this person make another game in this same kind of style actually as it is very well done and pretty hot too!

In a world where we have no shortage of adult visual novel games, I personally feel that you have to offer something pretty special to stand out. While I like the premise and the presentation of Lewd Island it just does not do enough to make it a game, I think that you have to rush out and play. Yes, the game looks great, but it is just kind of dull and the whole incest plot did not sit well with me either.

Pros:

• I really appreciate the effort made with the presentation
• Good looking characters
• Lots of different sex scenes/positions
• The game does let you make choices
• I would be interested in a new game from the same people

Cons:

• The choices you make do not alter things much at all
• I found the whole incest thing to be a big turn off
