Love at First Tail

Not many games can surprise me like Love at First Tail did. I have a kind of weird thing when it comes to lewd games. I will often say that I am not a furry (not that there is anything wrong with it at all), but I will proudly talk about how I am huge into monster girls. Is there really that much of a difference between the two? Anyway, this game is one that on the surface looks like it is just for your fury fanatics, but it is far more than just that and it ended up being a game that I feel could be enjoyed by anyone who loves a good wholesome story.

Not So Dark Please

One of the things that I have to say about Love at First Tail is that the intro was kind of shocking. Our main character is returning to his hometown after spending time away studying and now he wants to get on with his life. I thought at first that we were going to be dealing with some darker themes in this story (no spoilers here) due to the way it starts off, but the intro to the game is the only part that I felt was like this. It made what followed so much better in my opinion.

Living The Best Life You Can With Those That You Love

I do not think that I could tell you what the big overarching story of Love at First Tail is. However, what I can tell you is that we have here are lots of interesting characters that we get to make connections with. It is a game about friendship, community, and love more so than just banging anything with fox ears and a tail that you think is cute. It is something of a slow burn story and by the time I got to the end of it, I had enjoyed what I had experienced and felt more happy than I did horny and I mean that as a positive.

Furry, Furry Love!

When it comes to the whole furry thing, it can be hard for a game to win me over, but Love at First Tail certainly did just that. These are some of the cutest character designs I have ever seen, so much so that if the game did not have any actual sex, I do not think I would have minded one bit as it went for “cute” over sexy and I am more than happy with that. The game has a kind of storybook look to it which I liked and I just thought that everything about this from the backgrounds, to the characters to the bits of animation we got was just done incredibly well.

No Furry Nose To The Grind

While the story of Love at First Tail is very wholesome and something I enjoyed greatly as well as the fantastic character designs. I was also very happy with the way the game played. I would say that what we have here is a lewd visual novel with a few adventure game type elements. There is no harsh grinding to worry about here and for the most part, the gameplay is just you having to make various choices as you progress through the game. I will say that the game is rather short and I have yet to hear if the developer has any plans to add any more content to the game.

Pros:

• The game has a very wholesome vibe to it
• It is probably the best slice of life furry game I have played
• I was very impressed with the storybook style of the visuals
• The game makes you care about the characters

Cons:

• I wish that the game was a bit longer as you can beat what is here in one sitting
• I cannot get any kind of confirmation if there is another chapter coming!
