HoneyGirl Agency tries to pick the best shots in the ranks. If you have been called to the office of the head of such a powerful organization - it can be a very weighty indicator in the resume. However, not everyone stays with the company. Anthony managed to get the attention of the head of HoneyGirl Agency, but to hold on to his position as a photographer candidate, he had to stand out at work or attract attention to his person in other ways.

Star Dating

Working at a modeling agency is not only terribly nerve-wracking, but also a cycle of beauties around the main character. Even the shortest probationary period will help make acquaintances with such beauties as:

• Miss Alley - bossy and businesslike woman will not leave anyone indifferent. A real business shark can easily swallow someone's heart
• Riley - an aspiring model and one of Anthony's first acquaintances in such an elite place
• Rebecca Marsh is the protagonist's friend and successful model
• Meadow - girlfriend of David's wife, Anthony's brother. It was with her that David cheated on his wife, and Anthony became a willing accomplice

As in many games of the erotic novel genre, such as Shaggy's Power, there is a special gallery inside the game where you can re-watch all the explicit scenes of the game. If the player has discovered them, of course.

Being a photographer is hard work. Just imagine, trying to get the right gig to hit the big time is almost impossible for most aspiring shutterbugs – unless you happen to live in a town entirely populated by aspiring models. That’s Anthony’s dilemma in New Coral City, an erotic visual novel with photographic dreams.

Working at a pizzeria wasn’t Anthony’s dream job, so he decided to change careers and become a photographer in New Coral City, a bustling beach town. What he finds is that behind every sculptural lady willing to model for Anthony is a story of secret desires and unlimited libido.

Flash and Flesh

No, New Coral City won’t have you taking pictures as if this was some sort of perverted Pokemon Snap (as awesome as that would be.) Like many other porn games, New Coral City is a visual novel – that means, the game limits itself to tell Anthony’s story, with the player offering minimal input to move the plot along.

In the end, it feels more like an interactive porn gallery than a game. Sure, it’s great to get to the good fast, but it does feel a bit shallow. I could have overlooked that if the story was good – but it’s as basic as can be. New Coral City isn’t trying to break new ground here, but, for what it is, it’s more than serviceable.

Meet the Girls

One common gripe I always have with these visual novels is the creepy character models. It’s not intentional, but the renders always end up looking like lifeless mannequins. More unsettling than erotic, I’d say. That said, New Coral City does a great job with its leading ladies.

Ignoring Anthony’s Adam-Levine-inspired design, almost every girl in this game looks amazing. Character models look as if they were designed in Honey Select 2: Libido, with one minor caveat: grain. Every CG looks grainy, almost like you’re looking at an old PC game from the early 2000s. If you can overlook the disappointing visual quality, the girls more than makeup for any technical shortcomings.

For the Emerging Photographer

Look, I know the photographer angle is just an excuse to tell a porn story, but I’m a photographer: I need to know just how realistic the game is. The bad news is that there’s nothing related to the basics of real-life photography here. The good news is that doesn’t matter at all.

What does matter, however, is posing, especially in a porn game. That is something New Coral City should improve in a future release. Some models have unnatural poses – and I mean you could only strike those poses if things like “bones” didn’t exist. I might be nitpicking a bit here, but it can certainly break the immersion when you see a character with its head turned 180 degrees.
