Parasite Black

Ok, as I write this Parasite Black is still being worked on so the version of the game I have played is not yet complete. However, I can say that what is here so far is fantastic and incredibly well-made. As someone that loves dark fantasy stories in their games, this one is one of the better when it comes to storytelling. I have been very impressed by what I have seen so far and even though the game is not complete, it is well worth your time checking out.

The Demorai!

The plot of Parasite Black feels like it could be a side story in something like Game of Thrones! The game is set in a dark fantasy style world that is being overrun by an evil force that is called The Demorai. The thing with this is that we play a hero who was basically sent to die, but he has ended up with a “parasite” that has brought him back to life and it could be just what the realm needs to save it from The Demorai.

A Game Of Thrones!

For the most part, Parasite Black is like a lewd visual novel and sandbox style of hybrid, and before you start rolling your eyes at this. Let me tell you, it is done fantastically well. The choices that you get to make feel like they actually matter and the way the game unfolds gets you so invested in your character and what is going on. The sandbox elements are done very well too, you have different districts that you can explore and it does feel like a pretty substantial world that you are in.

Fight Or Die

While the visual novel and sandbox elements that are in the game are done well, there is more to the gameplay of Parasite Black than just that. There is turn based combat in this game and while I will admit that it is not the deepest, it is still a great deal of fun and something that I think adds a great deal of depth to the overall experience. You do have to think about what you are doing in battles, but at the same time, they are not over complicated for people who are not usually the type to play games with turn-based battles.

An Ancient Tale Brought To Life

Visually, Parasite Black is one of the most striking games that I have seen in quite some time. Dark fantasy has always been a genre that has appealed to me greatly and the artwork that is in this game is absolutely amazing. It has some of the best character designs that I have ever seen and the lewd content truly is second to none.

My only gripe is that there are these “internal” sections which is something that is usually a turn of for me, do we really need to see that? Anyway, apart from that I legit have nothing negative to say about the way that this game looks at all!

Pros:

• I loved the story that was being told here
• The exploration aspect of the game is done very well
• I enjoyed the turn based, RPG style battles
• The art in this game is just incredible!

Cons:

• As of me writing this review, there is not a ton of content in the game
• Do we really need the internal shots of what is happening when people are banging
