Get ready for Yokai Art: Night Parade of One Hundred Demons! If you are looking for a game that has many traditional Japanese Yokai as sexy girls that then fight each other, you are in the right place. There is literally nothing more Japanese than that. You must use these Yokai and battle other Yokai and their minions, eventually dominating the battlefield and becoming a god among mere posers. It’s a pretty fun game that requires a bit of learning and a lot of tactics, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be having a blast. Let’s get into it.
So, using your Yokai, you will have to engage in a chess-like game where you battle enemy forces. You have many different Yokai, some are short range fighters, some long range, others are more tanky units that can withstand a lot of damage. You will need to acknowledge and make use of things like elemental weaknesses, while upgrading personal skills to support the strategies you formulate.
There is a lot of thinking required in this game, so if you’re just looking to bust a nut, you’re going to need to earn it with strategy and math. I found the challenge of this game to be pretty good, especially since it can be replayed with various difficulties. If it was too easy the first time, you can bet it won’t be the second. That kind of replay value is hard to come by, but this game nails it.
Weirdly, it functions like a middle point between Plants vs. Zombies mixed with Love n Dream. There is also a roguelite card upgrade system that is present too, to make it so you can dynamically enhance your playstyle with a new level of nuance.
The visuals are actually pretty great. Ignoring the sexy stuff for now, many of the characters and the little minions that they fight with are fantastically rendered. Everything moves in a fantastically smooth way, making it look like they are hosepipe animated. There are many different types of minions which all look very different, one looks like a wall with a face. Another looks like a lantern. It is interesting learning about all these unique spirits from Japanese culture. I didn’t know there were so many.
All jokes aside, there is a pretty substantial amount of mature content within this game. You aren’t just playing this because it’s a fun strategy game, we all know that and it’s okay. There are animated galleries to be filled up with outrageously proportioned spirits that definitely look much more appealing here than they do in many traditional Japanese art. Many of the characters within this title are found wearing revealing costumes and are in suggestive positions doing that sexy “yamate” voice. You know the one.
A simple but effective game that offers you what you want. Tactical combat and sexy women. Perfect.
- Excellent Visuals
