Beat Blades Haruka

I have to say that Beat Blades Haruka has one of the most awesome titles of any game. This is an adult visual novel game that a buddy of mine holds in very, very high regard. It is one of the few hentai visual novel games that actually got a port out here in the West so that alone makes it a rather interesting game. It makes you think that it must be pretty amazing if they were willing to go to the effort to translate it!

The Luckiest Guy In The World

The main character is called Takamaru Ikusabe and he is a high school loser that really does not have much going on. Beat Blades Haruka though is a story where this loser gets to live out the dream. One day through a series of strange circumstances, Takamura becomes linked with Hakura Takamori.

Hakura Takamori is hot, but she is also a Shinobi of the secret Crescent Moon Society and she has an important job where she has to stop this evil faction. The way that Takamura gets involved is that he needs to make sure Hakura has all the energy she needs. The way he does this is by banging her of course, or as the game calls it “The Dragon Synergy Ritual”

I Wanna Go Deep

The gameplay of Beat Blades Haruka was surprisingly deep and required way more than I thought that it would. Yes, there is a great deal of reading and having to make choices based on this, but it does require a lot more of the player. There are three different heroines that you can try and progress things within the game and there is a time mechanic at play with morning, afternoon, and night and you being able to do different things at certain points of the day.

You can do the Dragon Synergy ritual, you can boost stats, learn new skills, and so on. The game has a combat system with these awesome turn based battles that is fun and very easy to figure out too. Much of the game is done via the roll of the dice and you can actually use this to your advantage if you do not mind technically cheating!

Like A Ninja

As Beat Blades Haruka deals with a secret ninja society, the game has a real anime look about it and it is something that I think is really good. The whole game has a great sense of style to it and it features some great looking characters. While the female characters are very easy on the eyes, I liked how the villains that you fight are kind of creepy and evil looking.

It has a decent enough soundtrack, but I feel that the music could have been a little more “Ninja” sounding if that makes sense. While the music is fine, I do feel that some of it is not really fitting.

Pros:

• I liked the story that the game told
• It has some great anime-style artwork
• The combat system was easy to learn
• There is a lot for you to do in this game
• It is well worth playing more than once

Cons:

• Some of the music feels out of place
• Some of the sexual themes were a tad too much for me
