Corrupted Kingdoms

Corrupted Kingdoms is a Patreon-funded lewd visual novel that I went into not expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised. As far as I can tell, the game is not yet 100 percent finished, but what is here already is very impressive and I found myself getting very into the story, characters, and setting of the game. If you like your lewd games to have a fantasy setting to them, you are in for a good time with this.

The Fantasy Civil War

The story that is being told in Corrupted Kingdoms is one that I think has a great deal of promise. Our main character is thrust into the middle of an uneasy war-type situation between humans and mythical creatures. What starts out as a simple journey to find out why his family was treated the way that they were turns into something much deeper.

I thought the main character was quite well developed with motives, abilities and so on that made me think he was not a complete moron like many main characters can end up being in visual novel games.

A Pixie By Any Other Name

The gameplay on offer in Corrupted Kingdoms is what you would expect in a visual novel game, but the RPG mechanics that are here which may not be super deep are done well enough and keep you going and give you more to do than just “talk”. You do have to grind for things such as magic points and magic, but it never feels like a chore which it can do in games like this.

There is a vast number of characters to interact with and finding out about them, their personality, and of course, getting the chance to have sex with them all makes you want to keep on playing. My personal favorite interaction was with a cute pixie who just so happened to be called Pixie! The game is fun to play and while it may not be changing the world of lewd visuals novels, this is a very competent and well-made game.

Twisted Tales

I found the visuals and the soundtrack here in Corrupted Kingdoms to be very well done. Let’s start with the way that the game looks. The fantasy setting is very well done with some great-looking characters and lewd scenes. The mixture of the fantasy stuff and the “human” world is something that is done very well and offers a rather interesting and somewhat unique kind of presentation. I do wish that there was a bit more to the visuals, not in terms of the quality, but sometimes there can be a ton of text, but the image will not change.

The soundtrack is very fitting and it reminded me of the kind of soundtrack that would have been in a PlayStation 1 era Final Fantasy game. It has that epic fantasy style to it and it fitted the story very well. There is no voice acting on offer here, but the few sound effects that happen are of a decent enough quality.

Pros:

• Plenty of choices for you to make in the story
• The fantasy setting is great
• I liked the way the characters looked
• Some great lewd content on offer here
• It has a solid fantasy style soundtrack

Cons:

• The visuals are great, I just wish there were more of them
• It could have done with some voice acting

I am pretty sure that I first played Corrupted Kingdoms about three years ago, but it just recently came across my radar again and I thought I would dive back in and give the game a fresh start. I remember really liking the fantasy story and world that was created here so I was interested to see how much it had progressed. The developer has done a wonderful job with the game, but they are having some kind of dispute with Patreon so I am not sure if the game is ever going to fully make it over the finishing line.

We Don’t Need No Civil War

Any time you can make a Guns n Roses reference you have to take it! Anyway, the story of Corrupted Kingdoms is actually really well told and has a kind of “epic” fantasy feel about it all. Basically, there is a war between the humans and the creatures, monsters or whatever you want to call them and we play as a character whose family is thrust into the middle of this conflict and we find that we have a rather important connection to it all. I think that the start of the game is fantastic and the world building and the way that characters are introduced is really well done.

Can A Grand Adventure Be Too Grand?

When I started playing Corrupted Kingdoms I was completely all in on this story, the world, and several of the characters that we met along the way. However, I did find that it was like the developer/writer had this massive grand vision for this fantasy epic and they then struggled to get it across. Actually, struggling is a bit harsh as the story is solid. However, they do fall into the trap of trying to overexplain some things and then just glossing over other things that feel like they need some explaining. This is the kind of story that you have to give your full attention to as you are playing it.

Keeping Your Wits About You

The first time that I played, Corrupted Kingdoms it was described as a lewd visual novel, and while there are certainly those classic lewd visual novel gameplay elements here as you progress through the game. I would say this is more of a lewd adventure game as it has some RPG elements in it and the game is played via a map system where you need to pick where you go. This is great on one hand as it does make you feel like you are on this big adventure, but I did find that as I got further into the game, I had a harder time knowing where to go, but rather than finding this frustrating, it kind of added to the adventure element for me. However, I can see why it could be a bit hard to get into for some people.

A Whole New World

If the story and the gameplay of Corrupted Kingdoms doesn’t grab you, I am 99 percent certain that the visuals will. This was already a spectacular looking game, but in my return to the game, I have appreciated the game even more as far as the visuals go. There are so many fantastic looking ladies in this game and I love the tiny waits, and huge boobs look that the majority of the characters have. Even the “fantasy” "looking characters are super hot in this game. It also boasts some very hot XXX scenes that have nice and smooth animation. It is not just the looks department where this game excels, it has a very fitting soundtrack that goes with the general vibe of the game as well.

Pros:

• I liked the epic fantasy story that was set up
• Many of the characters were interesting
• The gameplay is deeper than you may be expecting
• This game has some amazing visuals that are animated

Cons:

• The further you get into the game, the harder it is to know where to go
• I do think the story may need to be edited a tad
