Heir Apparent

I came into Heir Apparent with a very open mind as the reputation for this online is incredibly mixed. It seems to be a game that clicks with people and that they love or it is something people just straight up do not like at all. I have to be honest and say that in a world that has about ten billion lewd visual novels, this is one that has some good ideas, but it did struggle to keep me invested in the story that they were trying to tell.

Mom, Sis, And The Loyal Subjects

I think the biggest problem that I had with Heir Apparent was the fact that the story made very little sense. There is some kind of royal family story happening here and there is also an incest story with a hot milf mom and the cute looking sister too. The problem is, that I just never cared for any of the characters, but the main reason for this was that the story right from the start never captures your attention. I will admit that I ended up just skimming a lot of the text that was popping up the further I got into the game!

It Is All About The Way You Move

In the still images, Heir Apparent looks like a great game. It has some impressive looking character renders and the two main “love interests” I think look different enough that you want to try and get it on with both of them. As you can tell, this is a game that is going for a more realistic kind of style and that is something they have done very well. However, while I like the way that the characters look, the animation in the game is very jerky and like 2 frames per scene. I think they may have been better off just having it all be still images.

Formulaic With A Capital F!

I think another reason that some people have been unimpressed with Heir Apparent is that the gameplay is very basic. This is 100 percent your typical lewd visual novel. You read a lot of text and then you get to make some decisions that will move the story along in a particular direction. It is not bad by any means and I do think that the choices do matter as there are multiple love interests.

However, it just feels very basic and uninspired, but to be fair, it is not doing anything bad in the gameplay department, just nothing to make it stand out from the crowd.

Pros:

• If you like incest style stories, you may like this
• When they are still the renders are impressive
• You do get to make choices in the story
• Some people do seem to really like the game

Cons:

• The story was hard to follow and not interesting right from the start
• It is pretty average in every single way
