Love Is All Around

Love Is All Around might be the greatest FMV game I have ever played! That is not me exaggerating, this is exactly the kind of thing I want from an FMV game. I grew up in the 90s so I remember these being a big thing and having a dating sim where you are trying to find love as an FMV game is a brilliant idea. Now, I will say that if FMV games are not usually your thing, this probably is not for you. However, if you like dating sims and get a kick out of games that utilize FMV, this is very much for you.

The Perfect Six

In Love Is All Around we have six different girls that we get to try and know better. While six may not sound like many. Each of these ladies is fully fleshed out and has their own personalities and multiple ways that their stories can go. You have a boss lady CEO, a gamer girl, an older lady, and so on. I think that they did a very good job of making sure that each of the six women was unique so that there would be a girl for everyone who plays this. The writing I felt was very well done and they managed to get the personality of each of the ladies to shine through really well.

Crystal Clear

It is crazy to think that back during the days of the Sega CD and its full motion video, Sewer Shark and Ground Zero Texas with their fuzzy blocky FMV blew my mind! Love Is All Around is not like that! What we have here is crystal clear video with six truly beautiful women for us to get to know better. These ladies are gorgeous and I love how they went for real, natural looking women. It makes it a much more immersive experience. This is honestly the best FMV I have ever seen in a game in terms of how clear and good it all looks. Just imagine if we had video quality that was this clear back in the 90s!

Making All The Right Moves

Love Is All Around is a game that is split into chapters. It plays like an adventure game. You will be in a room and if you click on the calendar, for example, it will go to it. You can click on different things that will flesh things out a bit and keep you moving forward When it comes to the dating sim aspect of the game, you will be chatting with the lovely lady and then you will get a selection of choices that you can make. It all happens very seamlessly, going back to the '90s for a moment, the load times back then could take you out of a cinematic experience, but that is not the case here at all! You make a choice and she responds or the scene moves forward right away, this does wonders to keep the immersion up.

Walking Down The Path Of Love

For those who love this kind of thing, Love Is All Around has a ton of content. You have multiple paths that each chapter can go and multiple endings, giving you a lot of reason to play through it multiple times. However, as well as all of the stuff that actually makes up the game. I loved the extra stuff, like the interviews with the actresses detailing how they got into the role. This is not just a quick one time play kind of game, they have stacked this thing with as much content as they could and that is very impressive for an FMV game.

Pros:

• It has six very likable ladies to date
• You have a lot of content to sink your teeth into
• The extra stuff you can unlock is very interesting
• This is one of if not the best FMV games I have played!

Cons:

• I need a physical release of this
• All of the voice acting is in Japanese, but that did not bother me
