Purino Party

Purino Party is one of those games that I have been meaning to get around to playing for ages! Well, a good friend of mine recently gifted me the game and I managed to spend quite a few hours playing it over the last week or so. This is a lewd game, but what I like about this is that it is part visual novel and part match three puzzle game. It is a combination that I have certainly seen before, but this one is at least trying to put its own spin on the formula which I really like.

Nerds Rule!

The story for this game is freaking weird, but it is also a great deal of fun and not meant to be taken too seriously. Purino Party sees our main character head to a town to do a bit of sightseeing. This town is very strange in that all of the pretty girls who live here value a person’s puzzle solving skills above all else and a puzzle master can have his pick of the ladies. You end up at a house with four very attractive and four very different girls that you can try and get to know better and of course, get with! It is fun and charming stuff and I had a fun time with it.

Cute, But Still Very Naughty

I love the selection of girls that Purino Party has for us to chat with and try to hook up with. The art in this game is fantastic and while the version you can get on Steam is censored, there is a pretty awesome uncensored patch that does not hold back. You may think that you have seen these characters before and chances are you have. The girls in the game are taken from two other games, Pure Girl and Innocent Girl. To be honest, I do not have a problem with that at all. Those who know these girls I am sure will find it cool and for those that do not, well it doesn’t matter at all. In all, this is a fantastic looking anime style game.

Choices Matter

The visual novel aspect of Purino Party may seem like your typical visual novel style of game, but there is something pretty interesting at play here. As I said, this is a match three style of game, but the way the visual novel aspect plays into the puzzle is cool. The better you do while conversing with the girls, the easier the puzzles will be. This is a good thing as this game is very difficult.

Matching Three Sometimes Annoys Me!

The match three aspect of the game may look like your typical match three game, but it is quite different. Purino Party allows you to grab any piece on the puzzle board and move it anywhere you like! You may think that this will make it easier, but it really does not. To start with, it can make it much harder to know how the pieces will fall. You could get a huge combo, but you could also match skulls together which is very bad! You also can only hold a piece for so long so you have to be quick, also you only have so many moves to make. This is very, very challenging, almost to the point of frustration!

Pros:

• The game has some amazing anime style art
• The match three puzzle system has some interesting ideas
• I liked how if you do well in the visual novel section, it makes the puzzle section easier
• It features characters from other popular lewd games

Cons:

• The game is censored unless you get the patch
• The puzzle system here has some neat ideas, but I would wager many people will find it frustrating
