Renryuu Ascension

What we have here with Renryuu Ascension is a lewd RPG that has some management aspects to it as well. I was quite impressed with just how deep the developer was trying to go with the gameplay as well as all of the XXX action that the game also had to offer. As of me writing the game, I am pretty sure that it is so far complete so if you play it, you can play it all the way through until the very end without having to worry about hitting a cliffhanger in the story and then having to wait six months for an update.

The King And I

The story of the game is decent enough. The main character in Renryuu Ascension is called, Ryen and he one day becomes king of all the land. He is a half dragon and half human kind of being and one of his responsibilities as king is to try and stop this plot that will see the world potentially end!

While this is pretty deep stuff, Ryen also likes to have fun and he is kind of bored in his everyday life and the best way to stop being bored is to explore the land and have sex with as many women as he can….of if he can stop the world from ending that would be pretty good stuff too!

Learning As You Go

At first glance, Renryuu Ascension looks like your typical lewd top-down style RPG, and in some ways that is actually what it is. However, there is a lot more to the gameplay than you would think here. There is a lot of exploration and while you will be taking on many different quests, you do also have other things to do as well such as running the country and making sure that people are happy and things are prosperous.

You also have to take part in many battles, try and talk to others and even capture monster girls. So, as you can see, it is giving you a great deal to do and it may seem a little daunting, but this is the kind of game where you have to just go with it and you learn as you go.

Like A Lewd Saturday Morning Cartoon

I am very impressed with the visuals and it looks like some kind of naughty Saturday morning cartoon. The battles in particular look excellent as the artist for Renryuu Ascension has created some awesome sprites that really do pop to life. The lewd scenes in the game are quite varied and have a somewhat in the middle of being a cartoon and an anime look to them and I find it very appealing.

As far as the actual gameplay goes, well the battles are done with some fantastic art, but the top-down sections of the game are done very well too. I was impressed overall with how detailed things were and this strange fantasy land did have a lot of personality.

Pros:

• I thought that the story was kind of fun
• There were many likable characters
• I thought that the visuals in the game were very well done
• I liked how there was a lot of variety to the gameplay

Cons:

• It could really have done with a bit more of an upbeat soundtrack
• I am sure some people will turn it off before they give it a fair chance
